In 2017, FedEx Malaysia implemented Workday HCM as its Core HR platform. The deployment replaced Oracle PeopleSoft HCM and established a cloud Workday tenant to consolidate HR master data for approximately 890 employees across FedEx Malaysia operations.
The Workday HCM implementation concentrated on core human resources capabilities typical of the Core HR category, including workforce administration, organizational management, centralized employee records, and onboarding lifecycle configuration. A primary technical workstream was PeopleSoft data extraction for Workday tenant creation, which required structured data mapping, transformation, and staged data uploads into the new tenant.
Integration activity focused on consolidating HR master data into the Workday HCM tenant and configuring role based security and approval workflows to support HR and people operations in Malaysia. The rollout included cutover planning and multiple data validation cycles to reconcile Oracle PeopleSoft HCM exports with the new system.
Governance emphasized formal data stewardship and reconciliation processes within HR, and the program established operational ownership for ongoing master data maintenance and process orchestration tied to the Workday HCM implementation.
