SAP Legacy SAP Concur Expense Expense Management ERP n/a 2012 2012
In 2012, Franklin Resources implemented SAP Concur Expense to centralize Expense Management for administrative travel and corporate card reconciliation. The deployment focused on supporting a small centralized administrative team that provides daily support to four Portfolio Managers and sixteen Research Analysts, consolidating travel profiles, domestic booking workflows, and expense reporting into SAP Concur Expense. SAP Concur Expense was configured to support standard Expense Management capabilities including travel profile management, online domestic flight and lodging bookings, corporate card reconciliation, receipt capture and policy-based approval workflows. Configurations emphasized automated expense entry for card transactions and delegated approver routing to reflect existing internal approval practices for domestic and international travel. The implementation integrated explicitly with corporate American Express card processes for timely payment reconciliation and with Microsoft Outlook for calendar and itinerary coordination, while the internal Travel department continued to manage international travel approvals and SVP sign-off. The team continued using Dealogic Connect for broker vote and ballot entry and maintained historical expense submissions in the InFor Expense Management System during transitional operations. Operational governance centered on administrator ownership by the portfolio support team, who maintained travel profiles, coordinated car services, visas and conference registration, and provided onboarding and offboarding support and peer training. SAP Concur Expense supported established workflows for expense submission, receipt follow-up and AMEX payment reconciliation, aligning system controls with existing departmental approval and travel coordination processes.

Workday Legacy Workday Benefits Benefits Administration HCM n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, Franklin Resources implemented Workday Benefits as part of its Benefits Administration strategy within the enterprise Workday HR environment. The deployment positioned Workday Benefits to serve the companys centralized HR Shared Services function, providing a cloud based benefits administration layer that aligns benefits processes with companywide HR operations. Workday Benefits was configured to support standard benefits administration capabilities including benefits enrollment, eligibility and plan configuration, open enrollment orchestration, and life event processing. Configuration work emphasized benefit plan setup and rule driven eligibility, enrollment workflows for employees and leaders, and integration of benefits data into the core Workday employee record to maintain a single source of truth for benefits status and enrollment history. Operational integration focused on tying benefits workflows to Payroll and HR Shared Services operations, enabling the HR Shared Services group to provide tier one support for employees and leaders. The HR Shared Services team used Workday as the HR system to support real time solutions for benefits, compensation, immigration, leave of absence, HR policy questions, and to assist Talent Acquisition with job postings, interview scheduling, onboarding, and new employee orientation. Governance and process management were centralized within HR Shared Services, with responsibilities including maintaining process and program documentation in the internal Shared Services community, ensuring Sarbanes Oxley compliance, and sustaining the process knowledge required to respond to employee inquiries. Workday Benefits supported this governance model by enabling consistent workflows, documented approval paths, and operational transparency for global HR functions handled by Shared Services.
