In 2015 Gardner Aerospace implemented SAP Concur Expense as an Expense Management solution to manage employee expense claims. The deployment supported expense processing for more than 800 employees across six UK sites and was embedded into the company payroll and month end operating cadence.
SAP Concur Expense was used for end to end processing of expense claims, including claim submission, approval workflow and expense reporting aligned to payroll cycles. The Payroll Officer responsibilities documented for March 2015 to June 2016 show direct use of the Concur system for processing expense claims, and configuration to align reimbursements with payroll schedules, statutory payment calculations and pensions processing.
Expense data from SAP Concur Expense fed into payroll journal creation and reconciliation routines, supporting reconciliation of payroll accounts to the accounting system and control of net payments including BACS transfers. That integration linked expense processing into payroll reporting, month end reporting and statutory payroll obligations such as Full Payment Submission RTI and year end forms.
Operational governance was centered on payroll administration, with the Payroll Officer maintaining payroll master records for starters, leavers and transfers, reconciling payroll and expense accounts, responding to employee queries and ensuring timely processing of expense reimbursements through SAP Concur Expense. The implementation therefore connected Expense Management with core payroll and finance workflows, embedding Concur expense processing into Gardner Aerospace payroll controls and reconciliation processes.

Gardner Aerospace configured MHR iTrent HR to model the organisation structure and to support HR and payroll workflows. Documented functional work included setting up organisation structure on iTrent, providing user support for iTrent users, and conducting user acceptance testing of the interface between MHR iTrent HR and EmpCentre, indicating use of the application for core employee data management, payroll interfacing, and transactional HR processes.
Integration work centered on UAT testing and validation of the interface to EmpCentre, aligning data flows between MHR iTrent HR and the EmpCentre system. Governance and rollout were executed through HR project resources with on site configuration, UAT, and business support activities that reshaped day to day HR and payroll operational workflows.

In 2015, Gardner Aerospace implemented Infor CloudSuite Industrial (Syteline) as its Manufacturing ERP. The deployment targeted manufacturing sites in the United Kingdom and Poland and supported Production, Planning, Logistics, Finance, Sales and Stores functional areas.
The Infor CloudSuite Industrial (Syteline) implementation centered on production inventory management and job processing, using Syteline 8 configuration to manage jobs, work orders and inventory flows. Functional modules and capabilities implemented included real time production displays that updated efficiency related KPIs, a document management approach that bundled job paperwork into single print sets, and custom reporting delivered through Excel ODBC and SharePoint integrated SSRS. Development work also included building SSIS packages and scripts to extract, validate and transform operational data for reporting and process feeds.
Integrations emphasized data movement and reporting, with SSIS used to extract system data and Excel ODBC and SharePoint SSRS used to present and distribute operational reports. Operational coverage included day to day ERP support across Gardner manufacturing sites, and reorganization of overnight batch and task scheduling to provide a clear 2am dispatch window for Stores staff, which reduced transaction errors and administrative time. The implementation supported cross functional process flows across Production, Planning, Logistics, Finance and Sales.
Governance and rollout were supported by formal testing and training protocols developed in advance of site go live across the UK and Poland, with internal enablement leveraging Train the Trainer and PRINCE2 Foundation skills. The project led the pilot and introduction of the new document management print bundle, reported to deliver approximately a330K savings per year. Day to day support and configuration authority remained with internal ERP support resources who provided advanced access, reporting design and ongoing scripting to maintain the Manufacturing ERP.
