The SAP S/4 HANA deployment focused on core ERP Financial capabilities integrated with procurement and supply chain workflows to support product development and manufacturing operations. The implementation included configuration of finance and procurement controls, vendor management interfaces, and custom applications for product development and manufacturing workflows, while retaining category aligned financial ledger and transactional controls inherent to SAP S/4 HANA.
Integrations were explicit and extensive, including built interfaces to Gilead Vendor Management Systems, migration of reporting dashboards from OBIEE to AWS and Tableau, and the implementation of Salesforce Service Cloud and Opportunity Management as connected operational systems. The program also migrated integrated quality systems that are GxP controlled from on premise to a cloud environment, and migrated SCM data analytics dashboards to AWS and Tableau, while introducing a Data Integrity dashboard that leverages machine learning techniques to analyze DI impact across quality and supply chain data.
Governance and operationalization were driven through program level oversight, with the team coordinating IT operations, change control for GxP applications, and dashboarding for executive review. Delivered project signals include the SAP S/4 HANA implementation, the vendor system interfaces, OBIEE to AWS Tableau analytics migrations, cloud migration of integrated quality systems, and deployment of custom product development and manufacturing applications.

Integrations and orchestration occurred within the Workday suite, aligning Absence Management with Workday Time Tracking and Payroll modules to ensure consistent absence processing and payroll eligibility.

In 2015, Gilead Sciences implemented IBM Maximo for Enterprise Asset Management to centralize computerized maintenance management and asset control. Deployment at the San Dimas, CA site focused on core CMMS capabilities including asset records, job plans, preventive maintenance scheduling, data sheets, inventory controls, and work order management.
Configuration and module work documented during the engagement included upgrades from Maximo 6.2 to Maximo 7.1 and then to Maximo 7.6, cloning of applications, and creation of new fields and domain values for purchase order, purchase requisition, and work order screens. Data population work used SQL scripts to load objects such as asset, item, and classification tables, and workflows were added to support Work Order Tracking and improved inventory management. The implementation also involved creation of role based Start Centers and site based security groups to segment access across operational roles.
Operational coverage centered on maintenance and quality assurance functions, with privileged user onboarding and hands on training for Maximo 7.6 navigation and administration. The maintenance planner and scheduler received technical training on Maximo functional capabilities, and the maintenance team used Maximo asset allocation to obtain parts information during scheduled downtime and emergency events.
Governance activities included updating Standard Operating Procedures entries inside IBM Maximo, following Good Manufacturing and good documentation practices, and establishing site level security groups for QA and maintenance teams. Change activities emphasized procedural updates, role based access provisioning, and ad hoc reporting workflows to drive follow up on open work.
Reporting and day to day operations work included creation of ad hoc reports to track open, in progress, and overdue work orders and follow up with responsible teams. Implementation tasks explicitly provided training, emergency maintenance support, and ongoing administration of IBM Maximo to sustain Enterprise Asset Management for Gilead Sciences.
