In 2012, GlobalData implemented Infor SunSystems to provide a consolidated financial platform across its global information services business. The Infor SunSystems deployment served as the companys ERP Financial backbone, intended to centralize core accounting processes and provide a single ledger for financial reporting across its corporate headquarters in London and central finance support in Hull, alongside more than 20 regional offices across Europe, North America, APAC and Latin America.
The implementation focused on standard ERP Financial modules, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, multicurrency accounting, consolidation and management reporting. Configuration work emphasized month-end and reforecast workflows, detailed cost analysis and balance sheet reconciliation routines to support the management accounts process and annual budgeting and year-end audit activities.
TouchstoneFMS served as the system integrator and led configuration, data mapping and rollout activities, aligning local ledgers with the central SunSystems instance. Operational processes explicitly included posting foreign trial balances provided by external overseas accounting firms and reconciling those local postings to the central Infor SunSystems ledger to ensure consistency in group reporting.
Governance was adjusted to centralize management accounts production and standardize internal control procedures across finance teams, with project documentation, training and handover managed as part of the TouchstoneFMS engagement. The deployment established a repeatable month-end workflow and a centralized accounting reference point for finance, accounting and operations stakeholders who provide input to forecasting and cost analysis.
