In 2017, Globe Electric implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP to address core ERP Financial requirements across its manufacturing and distribution operations. The Microsoft Dynamics GP deployment was scoped to support inventory, customer shipments, purchasing and invoicing workflows that span Globe Electric’s manufacturing facilities in Asia and customer operations across North America, enabling faster executive access to transactional data.
The implementation configured Microsoft Dynamics GP financial, inventory and purchasing capabilities, and leveraged the Crystal Reports Professional feature to build a customized demand forecasting reporting tool. Microsoft Dynamics GP was used as the centralized ERP Financial application to produce formatted, executive-ready reports and to standardize transactional visibility for finance and operations teams.
Deployment emphasized integration with existing desktop and server based applications and internet availability so executives could retrieve critical business data remotely and in near real time. Inmind Technologies served as the implementation partner for the Microsoft Dynamics GP rollout, handling system configuration and reporting customizations.
Globe Electric migrated from an aging, Unix based Progress ERP software system to Microsoft Dynamics GP, a move that reduced the time required to produce executive level reports from weeks to hours and freed IT staff from repetitive report generation tasks. The demand forecasting reporting tool and centralized Microsoft Dynamics GP data enabled faster access to business critical information for executives and finance, improving the company’s ability to respond to market challenges.
