In 2010, GN Group implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) as a core Analytics and BI capability within its Global IT portfolio. The deployment was led from GN ReSound by a member of the Global IT management team and a global application development team of 30 employees and two team managers, responsible for both enhancement and operational stability of strategic enterprise applications.
Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) was configured to deliver reporting, semantic modeling, and ETL processing across enterprise data sources. The implementation integrated with named enterprise systems under the same application ownership, including SAP BW, Dynamics AX and Navision, and also fed content into SharePoint and the company PLM system Agile for distribution and collaboration. Integration design centered on SSIS driven pipelines into a SQL Server reporting store, SSAS semantic layers for self service and managed analytics, and SSRS deliverables consumed by business users across finance, operations and product teams.
Governance and operational ownership were centralized within Global IT and the GN ReSound application team, emphasizing application lifecycle management, change control and release coordination between development and operations. The program narrative reflects a structured enterprise reporting stack, where Microsoft BI served as the standardized Analytics and BI platform managed by a dedicated inhouse development and support organization.
