In 2019, Godrej Agrovet implemented SAP S/4 HANA. The deployment targeted core ERP Financial processes for finance, procurement, sales, and manufacturing functions, aligned to the ERP Financial category and built to succeed SAP ERP ECC 6.0 EHP8.
The implementation encompassed SAP S/4 HANA functional coverage of SD, MM, FICO and PP QM modules, alongside BASIS operations and customization workflows. Configuration work included capture of business specific requirements, role and user creation, transport and change control coordination, and coordination of SAP development requests to address customization needs from business stakeholders.
Architecturally the project required provisioning of application and database infrastructure to support SAP S/4 HANA, including dedicated OS, database server and application server environments and formalized backup and recovery procedures. Ongoing BASIS administration responsibilities cited in the implementation included user and role management, SOST status monitoring, environment readiness for installations, and routine data backup and recovery to maintain operational continuity.
Governance and operationalization centered on ITIL based service delivery, formal documentation, compliance and cybersecurity ownership, and asset lifecycle management. Integrations and operational touch points documented in the deployment included synchronization of employee profiles with the travel portal and the Mahindra holidays portal, data feeds to payroll cycles and benefit administrators, coordination with group insurance vendors for policy renewals, and vendor interactions for PF and gratuity administration. The implementation also supported operational processes such as email id creation and deactivation, Sodexho voucher disbursement, and management of corporate mobile connections with Vodafone, maintaining HRIS as the authoritative source of employee attributes.
Governance was organized around HR operations and HRIS ownership, with regular org structure updates, monthly employee database refreshes for insurance and statutory purposes, and clear SPOC responsibilities for portal profile maintenance. Processes implemented included exit clearance and exit interview capture, full and final settlement workflows, gratuity settlement coordination, and policy publication within the online HR policy manual, aligning system configuration to day to day HR compliance and administration activities.
