Oracle Legacy Oracle PeopleSoft ERP ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, Griffith University implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP for ERP Financial to consolidate core finance operations and support a university-scale finance organization of approximately 4,500 employees. The implementation was centered on the university finance and Business Partnering functions and included a period of secondment into the Business Partnering team in Brisbane, Australia during June 2019 through December 2019 when a Financial Consultant supported BAU client queries and analysis projects. Oracle PeopleSoft ERP was configured to deliver standard ERP Financial capabilities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset management, budgeting and financial reporting workflows. The PeopleSoft configuration emphasized transactional processing, chart of accounts alignment and reporting feeds that supported both operational reconciliation and business partnering analysis. Integrations were explicitly used with TM1 for planning and budgeting workflows and with Microsoft Office for operational reporting and analyst workstreams, as noted by the Financial Consultant who worked across TM1, PeopleSoft and Office for BAU and project analysis. Operational coverage focused on the finance department and business partnering teams in Brisbane, with PeopleSoft serving as the system of record for financial transactions while TM1 handled planning and forecasting inputs. Governance and rollout relied on embedding finance subject matter expertise into the Business Partnering team, using secondee arrangements to surface process gaps, stabilize BAU support and capture configuration knowledge. The implementation narrative emphasizes system configuration of Oracle PeopleSoft ERP, integration with TM1 and Office, and strengthened finance to business workflows driven by the Business Partnering secondment.

The implementation centers on Oracle PeopleSoft HCM modules that manage payroll and staff benefits, recruitment, selection and appointment workflows, and HR service delivery that underpins the AskHR call center. Configuration emphasis included employee record management, payroll processing controls, benefits administration and recruitment workflow automation to support the full employee lifecycle within the Core HR domain.
