Gruppo Acea implemented SAP S/4 HANA in 2018 as its ERP Financial platform. Atos managed the upgrade of Acea Energia's SAP Utilities IS-U from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4 HANA, executing the project as a controlled upgrade to the SAP S/4 HANA code line.
The SAP S/4 HANA implementation integrated core ERP Financial processes with CRM, human capital management, mobile workforce management, billing and credit management, establishing SAP S/4 HANA as the transactional backbone for customer billing and credit workflows. Functional capabilities implemented included SAP Utilities IS-U for energy billing and customer accounts, finance ledger and accounting capabilities, HR core processes, and mobile workforce dispatch and execution related to field operations.
Data migration and cutover were executed over a single weekend minimum go-live window, with no changes to data structure, no discards during data transformation and no interruptions to system availability. Atos managed the migration and cutover activities, coordinating validation and reconciliation to preserve transactional integrity and continuous service for Acea Energia's billing and customer service operations.
The deployment impacted finance, customer operations, HR and field service functions within Acea Energia, consolidating billing, credit management and workforce management into SAP S/4 HANA. Governance emphasized a controlled weekend cutover and data integrity controls, with SAP S/4 HANA serving as the central ERP Financial system for Gruppo Acea.

In 2019, Gruppo Acea implemented PrometeoManutenzione CMMS from Informatica EDP. PrometeoManutenzione CMMS was introduced as the enterprise Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) application to centralize maintenance planning and execution across Acea's utilities operations.
The implementation focused on core CMMS capabilities, including an enterprise asset register, work order management, preventive maintenance scheduling, spare parts and inventory management, inspection and rounds management, and mobile technician access.
