Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations ERP Financial ERP n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, H-E-B implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its ERP Financial platform. The deployment was scoped to support manufacturing and supply chain business functions and engaged Product Management, business stakeholders, Engineering and Systems teams within the BF-Manufacturing department and related enterprise teams in US-TX-San Antonio. The implementation configured core Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations capabilities including Dynamics Advanced Warehouse, Production and Quality modules, with Functional Architects responsible for designing configuration, system enhancements, and business process changes. The program referenced Microsoft platform tools such as LCS and DevOps and leveraged Power Platform skills for extensions and automation where needed. Architecturally the solution emphasized integration with upstream and downstream systems using queues and messaging services, webservices, APIs, and direct database interfaces, with Functional Architects troubleshooting data movement and accuracy in both development and production support scenarios. Teams documented functional designs and reverse engineered external systems through data extraction and validation to ensure accurate system interfaces and message flows. Governance covered product owner responsibilities, SDLC tool and standards refinement, multi-year planning, and rollout planning that included communication, training, and implementation plans at the department and enterprise level. Quality strategy was owned at the platform area level, with creation of test cases, execution of test scripts, and work in testing frameworks to produce automated testing suites, while Functional Architects mentored Business Process Owners and Analysts on solution design and configuration.

Oracle Legacy Oracle Retail Merchandising System Retail Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2012 2012
In 2012 H-E-B implemented Oracle Retail Merchandising System as a core component of its Retail Management platform to add new point of sale functionality and extend merchandising and e-commerce capabilities across its retail operations. The Oracle Retail Merchandising System implementation supported requirements to manage orders, improve sales effectiveness, and enhance POS workflows within H-E-B Grocery Company and affiliated banners including Central Market. The implementation encompassed commerce modules and retail and global e-commerce POS applications with documented Business Requirements Documents, Functional Design Documents, and a maintained Traceability Matrix. Functional work included order management, product and merchandising configuration, user stories and acceptance criteria grooming, and creation of detailed epics and sprint backlogs to guide iterative delivery of Oracle Retail Merchandising System capabilities. Integration work focused on end to end integration of the Oracle Retail Merchandising System with warehouse management systems ORDM and PKMS and with Point of Sale systems, plus multiple international e-commerce gateway requirements for multi currency transactions. API and web services integration was exercised through REST and SOAP interfaces, API specification review with provider teams, and hands on web services testing using Postman and SOAPUI, with application interface mapping documented for developer handoff. Project governance and operationalization were managed using Agile Scrum practices, including product backlog management, sprint and release burn down reporting, JAD sessions with subject matter experts, and formal UAT and signoff processes. Traceability, test planning and defect management used TFS Azure DevOps Server, SQL Query Manager for backend verification, MS Visio for process modeling, and Tableau and MS Project for reporting and test metrics, and activities explicitly supported efforts to minimize warehouse shrink and to enhance POS efficacy.
