Oracle Legacy Oracle Peoplesoft Benefits Administration Benefits Administration HCM n/a 2010 2010
In 2010 Hennepin County Medical Center implemented Oracle Peoplesoft Benefits Administration as the centralized platform for Benefits Administration across its integrated care network. The deployment targeted the hospital campus and affiliated outpatient clinics in Minneapolis and surrounding Hennepin County communities, aligning benefits processing with enterprise payroll and HR operations. The implementation coupled Oracle Peoplesoft Benefits Administration with core PeopleSoft modules, including Payroll, Time & Labor, and Base Benefits, and emphasized configuration of benefit plan setup, eligibility rules, event driven enrollment workflows, and benefits data management. Workstreams included development of functional specifications for benefit plan configurations, test script creation for release testing, and configuration of rules for life event handling and eligibility determination. Operational integration was focused on tight data and process flows between Benefits Administration, Payroll, and Time & Labor to support on cycle and off cycle payroll events, tax updates, and year end W-2 and W-2C processing. The program included coordinated upgrade and testing cycles for PeopleSoft HRMS and Payroll components, and routine reporting and query development to support Medical Center management and payroll operations. Governance and ongoing operations centered on a senior payroll subject matter expert who served as the functional owner for Payroll, Time & Labor, and Benefits systems, responsible for troubleshooting production issues, authoring functional specifications for system enhancements, coordinating PeopleSoft upgrades and tax updates, and driving process improvement and testing. This structure embedded PeopleSoft change control, testing governance, and role based operational support into Payroll and HR business functions while maintaining system support responsibilities within the Payroll HR System team.
