In 2017 Iberostar Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform. The rollout replaced SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and was executed with Epi Use Labs as the implementation partner.
The SAP S/4 HANA instance is structured to support core ERP Financial capabilities, with configuration and custom development activities scoped to validate accounting, general ledger and period close workflows alongside accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Customizations and developments within the S/4 landscape are tested end to end, with configuration management applied to ensure transportability across clients.
Iberostar uses Client Sync™ from the DSM suite to refresh non production clients by copying data from Production, explicitly updating the Development and Integration environments to enable realistic testing of all customizations and developments within the S/4 landscape. This client copy mechanism is incorporated into the SAP S/4 HANA environment to maintain parity between production data and test tenants across the system landscape.
Operational governance centers on repeated client refreshes for Development and Integration to validate changes prior to higher level promotion, a process implemented by Epi Use Labs and described as straightforward and uncomplicated. The implementation emphasizes environment fidelity and testability for finance and IT teams without introducing additional complexity into the client refresh workflow.
