In 2015, Intel implemented Workday Absence Management. The deployment focused on integrating Workday Absence Management into an enterprise integration layer, positioning the application as Intel's Absence and Leave Management solution to support HR Core and adjacent business functions.
The implementation leveraged an Autosys SQL Framework to orchestrate integrations into a Common Data Store CDS, with ETL processes developed against SQL Server 2012 and T-SQL. Development work included complex stored procedures, transformation logic derived from functional specifications, and delta and full load strategies for inbound and outbound absence data, while error handling used TRY and CATCH blocks.
Integrations explicitly spanned HR Core, Payroll, Absence Management, Compensation, Cash Management, Job, Organization, Talent and Performances, with cleansed feeds staged for Down Stream Applications DSA. The technical environment referenced Visual Studio 2012 for development and TFS for source control, and the project reported data gaps from the staging database for remediation.
Governance and operational practices included code review, collaboration with DBAs to resolve deadlocks and performance issues, and exposure to a Tiger Team methodology for iterative troubleshooting. Intel structured the implementation to centralize absence data flows into the CDS, enabling downstream consumption without specifying rollout metrics or cost outcomes.

In 2017 Intel implemented GE Digital Predix APM as part of an Asset Performance Management initiative to improve reliability of fan filter units in its manufacturing environments. The deployment targeted FFUs that protect production areas from dust and contaminants, with an explicit focus on real-time equipment health monitoring and failure prediction.
GE Digital Predix APM was configured to ingest sensor streams and operational telemetry from FFUs, applying predictive analytics and prognostics to detect early signs of degradation. Predix APM provided monitoring, alerting, failure prediction, and asset health visualization capabilities to convert device data into actionable maintenance tasks.
The implementation integrated Intel IoT Gateways with GE Digital Predix APM to forward FFU telemetry for centralized analysis, enabling scheduled maintenance planning and parts staging. Operational coverage included manufacturing sites where FFUs are critical, and the solution supported maintenance and operations teams by surfacing prioritized service work and expected failure windows.
Governance and workflow changes shifted maintenance from reactive emergency repairs to predictive maintenance workflows, enabling planned downtime and prepositioning of parts for service. Using GE Digital Predix APM, Intel reduced the impact of FFU failures from three to four days of unplanned downtime to just a few hours when servicing was required.
