In 2017, IOOF implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial backbone. The deployment used SAP S/4 HANA Public Cloud together with Ariba for procurement, SuccessFactors for human resources, and SAP Analytics Cloud to provide consolidated reporting and budgeting and financial planning across Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
The implementation centered on core financial management, procurement orchestration and human capital management capabilities within SAP S/4 HANA. Configuration work focused on general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable workflows, procurement requisition to invoice orchestration and HR master data alignment, with SAP S/4 HANA serving as the primary transactional system for finance and procurement.
Integrations connected SAP S/4 HANA Public Cloud to Ariba for procurement document flows and to SuccessFactors for workforce master data synchronization, while SAP Analytics Cloud consumed transactional and master data for consolidated reporting, budgeting and financial planning. The technical architecture emphasized cloud native connections between SAP S/4 HANA Public Cloud and the complementary SAP applications to enable near real time data flow across systems.
Governance and operational rollout were organized across the Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong footprint, aligning regional finance, procurement and HR processes to common reporting and planning practices via SAP Analytics Cloud. The program established centralized budgeting and planning workflows and standardized reporting outputs to support multi‑country financial management within the ERP Financial environment.

In 2019, IOOF implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central in a Core HR deployment running June 2019 to September 2019. The work encompassed Employee Central, Employee Central Payroll, and Performance and Goals Management as the central HRIS and payroll components for the engagement.
The implementation delivered explicit functional modules including Employee Central concurrent employment functionality, the Performance Management module, position management, time management, payments and compensation infotypes, workflow rules, and role based permission configurations. A Superannuation Capping Project was executed within the payroll configuration set, and associated deliverables included an Employee Central Payroll training manual and an Employee Central role based permission training manual.
Operational execution emphasized payroll governance and requirements engineering, the project team conducted a GAP analysis to identify enterprise bargaining agreement derived business rules that were configured inappropriately, elicited user requirements with payroll stakeholders, and translated those findings into a detailed requirements document and solution design. Training assets were produced using Captivate, the screen capture videos were incorporated into the organisation e learning software, and user training sessions were delivered for Payroll Officers, Hiring Managers, Recruitment Specialists, and experienced stakeholders.
Governance and rollout were driven by functional consultancy and ongoing BAU support, the implementation included configuration changes to enforce EBA adherence, role based access controls, and documented workflows to support deployment and production support resolution. The program combined project phase activities with post go live support, including handling production support tickets and change and adoption enablement for continued HR and payroll operations.
