Operational use of Great Plains emphasized accounts payable and accounts receivable ledger activities and the compilation of data required for financed orders and rebate submissions.
The deployment established handoffs and integrations with internal finance and inventory functions, with Finance Opex receiving non-creditor invoices for processing and Inventory Support engaged to correct invoicing and stock discrepancies. Microsoft Dynamics GP served as the transactional ledger for monthly payment allocations and supplier account reconciliations, while workflows were implemented for timely Apple CRT rebate application submissions and state level budget tracking.
Governance focused on process-driven monthly budget controls for Education and Commercial Account Managers, monthly supplier reconciliations, and cross-functional coordination between finance, inventory support, and account management. The documented outcome for the period was that Commercial and Education met their monthly budgets consistently, enabled by the configured workflows and stewardship of transactional and reconciliation processes.

Operational coverage extended across store offices, Human Resources, and the central payroll team, with the payroll officer coordinating with HR and Store Office administrators to validate new starter packs and resolve employee pay queries. The implementation emphasized validation workflows for new starters, reconciliations of all leave balances ahead of termination or redundancy, and the production of management reports required by stores and corporate stakeholders.
Governance and process controls were formalized around leave reconciliation, overpayment recovery, and termination pay calculations, with responsibilities assigned to payroll and HR staff for timely processing and documentation. The payroll team maintained accuracy in calculating final termination pays and redundancies and sustained recovery of overpayments within required periods, while continuing routine filing and daily backups as part of operational governance.
