Keewaytinook Okimakanak is a non-political Chiefs Council serving six First Nations communities in Northwestern Ontario, and the implementation targeted multi-entity consolidation and the elimination of paper intensive, manual reporting workflows. The Sage Intacct deployment centralized core financial management, multi entity consolidation, dimension based reporting, project and fund tracking, and configurable purchasing approval workflows. Sage Intacct’s audit trail and role based access were configured to support audit readiness and internal control, and dimensions were used to deliver real time, focused reports to department heads and fund managers for government reporting and project oversight. BAASS Business Solutions executed the data migration into Sage Intacct and developed the BAASS Bridge integration to bring Square point of sale revenue from KO affiliate K Net into Sage Intacct, removing manual revenue reconciliation. The cloud deployment also removed the need for an out of date on premises server and simplified remote access for the finance team across KO’s regional operations. Governance changes included automated approval workflows, auditor access to application level records, and BAASS led training and change management to embed new processes into finance operations. Reported outcomes include improved efficiency, time and cost savings, enhanced reporting, and greater control, and KO plans to expand the environment with Sage Fixed Asset to streamline asset tracking and depreciation.
