MicroStrategy Legacy MicroStrategy ONE Analytics Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2013 2018
In 2013, Kelley Blue Book implemented MicroStrategy ONE Analytics to centralize Analytics and BI for Sales, Valuations, vehicle configuration, and intent analytics workflows. MicroStrategy ONE Analytics was used to deliver Fair Market Range analytics and operational reporting to Tier-3 Sales and Valuations teams and to support dealer group insights across the organization. The deployment leveraged MicroStrategy Transaction Services to enable the Vehicle Configuration Team to prioritize the order in which new vehicles are configured, a capability noted to increase revenue. The team developed datasets, lenses, and visualizations for the Auto Intender Engine project, and those artifacts were built by leveraging Platfora and Hadoop to process intent and large vehicle data sets. MicroStrategy ONE Analytics was the front-end for these visualizations and for FMR analysis, providing interactive BI capabilities and role-targeted dashboards. Operational architecture included a migration of MicroStrategy to the QTS datacenter in Atlanta, executed together with an operating system switch from Windows to Linux. The program also included a MicroStrategy platform upgrade from 9.41 to 10.1, consolidating analytics servers and data pipelines within the new datacenter environment. These infrastructure moves were coordinated with network and data engineering to preserve reporting continuity during the cutover. Governance and rollout were led by a senior BI lead who supervised a team of BI analysts and contractors, instituted Tier-3 support processes for Sales and Valuations consumers, and provisioned dataset lifecycle practices for AIE assets. The implementation included end user training efforts, one of which earned a TechTV contest recognition for a mobile training tutorial, and broader contributions were recognized with a 2015 Jedi Technology Award for cross-team solutions.
