In 2017, Kenya Airways re-implemented Oracle e-Business Suite Accounts Receivable as part of an Oracle R12 ERP re-implementation, establishing a consolidated AR platform under the AR Automation category. The initiative targeted core finance processes, positioning Oracle e-Business Suite Accounts Receivable to manage billing, revenue accounting, and receivables lifecycle workflows across the airline finance organization.
The implementation configured Accounts Receivable and Revenue Accounting modules, with explicit functional workstreams for invoice preparation and dispatch, receivables sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliation, bank guarantee management, and customer account management. Oracle e-Business Suite Accounts Receivable was extended with billing automation and a Smart Match auto reconciliation capability introduced in the 2020 to 2022 project phase, and the Expected Credit Loss model was implemented concurrent with IFRS 9 in 2018 to support credit provisioning and revenue accounting compliance.
The program included a complex integration footprint, functionalizing 18 integrations between subsystems and the core Oracle ERP to enable automated interfaces of AR files into the accounting system. Subsequent projects included a Direct Sales Payments solution delivered in 2019, and ongoing interface support and reconciliation tooling maintained by the AR functional team in Nairobi, covering centralized finance and accounts receivable operations for Kenya Airways.
Governance was driven by an internal Accounts Receivable team lead who served as the Oracle ERP Accounts Receivable and Revenue Accounting functional expert, responsible for change management, testing of business intelligence reports for receivables and general ledger, and verification of data migration. The project documented complete and verifiable transfer of receivables and revenue accounting transactions into the new Oracle environment, and the AR team coordinated testing and risk mitigation for integrations and reporting.
Operational outcomes explicitly recorded by the internal finance team include reconciliation of over 90 percent of customer and receivables accounts under the AR portfolio, and continued functional support from the Accounts Receivable team lead. Kenya Airways Oracle e-Business Suite Accounts Receivable in the AR Automation category remains the primary system for billing, collections, revenue accounting, and automated reconciliation within the airline finance function.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Enterprise Asset Management | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 Kenya Airways implemented Oracle Enterprise Asset Management as part of an Oracle R12.1.3 deployment to consolidate maintenance and asset workflows across the carrier. The implementation was led through functional consulting engagement activities beginning February 2017, and extended into subsequent rollout phases through May 2018, focused on operationalizing asset lifecycle controls for the airline.
The deployment covered core Enterprise Asset Management capabilities including asset register and configuration, work order management, preventive maintenance scheduling, and spare parts inventory control. Implementation responsibilities explicitly included EAM, WMS, Purchasing, Inventory, iProcurement, iSupplier, Sourcing and Lifecycle Management modules, with configuration and enhancement work driven by business process analysis and formal enhancement reviews.
Integrations were a central element of the technical scope, with an explicit integration between the OASES system and Oracle ERP to support Technical Procurement workflows. Operational coverage included Maintenance and Procurement functions supporting Kenya Airways operations headquartered in Embakasi Nairobi and its hub at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, and extended into warehouse and inventory teams responsible for spare parts and material management.
Governance and rollout activity was structured around functional consulting tasks, business process analysis, enhancement review cycles, and module-by-module implementation ownership for the named modules. The engagement emphasized process alignment between procurement and maintenance through the Oracle Enterprise Asset Management and integrated procurement stack, with the functional consultant role accountable for analysis, configuration and delivery of the eAM Module enhancements.
