In 2019, KOSTAL Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP Financial platform, replacing SAP ERP ECC 6.0. The German manufacturing company, organized around global finance and controlling functions, positioned SAP S/4 HANA to consolidate transactional accounting and modernize financial records on an in-memory platform.
The SAP S/4 HANA deployment focused on standard ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger and real time accounting, accounts payable and receivable, asset accounting, cost center and profitability controlling, financial close orchestration, and statutory and tax reporting. Configuration work emphasized a harmonized chart of accounts and centralized master data to align multinational accounting rules and group consolidation processes.
Architecturally the implementation leveraged SAP S/4 HANA core modules to converge transactional and managerial accounting, enabling continuous accounting workflows and faster period close cycles. The deployment scope covered global finance teams and regional shared service centers within KOSTAL Group, and the Global Process Manager SAP S/4 Hana role governed process ownership, template adoption, and release cadence across sites.
Governance was structured around centralized process standards and phased rollouts, with the Global Process Manager SAP S/4 Hana driving template governance, cutover planning, and cross-site control definitions. The program emphasized process harmonization across business functions including finance, controlling, and group consolidation to ensure consistent financial reporting within the SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial environment.
