In 2011, Listers Group moved to a hosted Frontier Software iChris deployment to secure employee and payroll data and to centralize Core HR functions. The decision followed a long-standing relationship with Frontier Software dating back to 2003, when the Group operated an on-premise chris Payroll and HR system, and the 2011 project focused on hosting to reduce data loss risk and ensure quick recovery times for payroll.
Frontier Software iChris was provisioned to provide hosted payroll processing, HR record management, and secure data storage, with Frontier assuming responsibility for installing upgrades, updates and fixes. Configuration emphasized continuity of payroll element behavior and minimizing downtime for critical payroll runs, reflecting operational requirements described by the Groups payroll leadership.
The implementation covered core payroll and HR operations across Listers Groups more than 50 dealerships and service centres, supporting employee administration and payroll workflows across the automotive retail estate. Operational scope was UK focused, and the deployment aligned Core HR capabilities with enterprise payroll continuity requirements to support multiple dealer sites and brands.
Governance and operational ownership shifted to Frontier Software for ongoing platform maintenance and hosting, which kept downtime to a minimum and met the project goals of secure data storage and recoverability. The Group concluded that remaining with Frontier Software and using Frontier Software iChris satisfied their hosting and data support requirements.
