In 2020, Riachuelo implemented SAP S/4HANA Cloud as its ERP Financial platform. The program targeted Grupo Guararapes operations in Brazil and replaced SAP ERP ECC 6.0, with Capgemini engaged as the system integrator and a dedicated project leadership team of more than 21 people overseeing the effort. The explore phase with SAP Consulting leveraged the Model Company best practices and concluded in June 2020, then the realize phase executed in three waves. The program was reported as the second largest SAP S/4HANA implementation in Brazil.
SAP S/4HANA Cloud product scope covered core financial and controlling capabilities including CO, AR, AP, AA and GL, treasury TRM, lease accounting LP, revenue RE, and procurement and supply chain modules MM and SD, plus project systems PS, plant maintenance PM, quality QM and production PP. Financial consolidation and planning were addressed with BPC and Group Reporting, while governance and tax automation included GRC NFe, GRC-AC, TaxService, Taxweb, Dootax and Guepardo. Industry and retail functionality was implemented via IS-Fashion, and user enablement and monitoring were provided through Enable Now and Solution Manager. BTP and CPI were used to extend and orchestrate integrations.
The deployment emphasized simplification of custom code and interfaces, reducing Z objects from 8000 in SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to 800 in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, with roughly 400 of the remaining Z objects functioning as interfaces. Integrations explicitly addressed tax, group reporting, warehouse management through EWM, and retail operational flows to align stores, purchasing, distribution and corporate finance processes. The realize phase was delivered in three waves by Capgemini, reflecting a phased roll out across operational areas.
Governance and project management were organized as a centralized project portfolio with phased waves and agile coordination across commercial, planning, distribution and purchasing squads. The capital investment reported for the program was R$ 130mm approximately € 22mm, and project leadership highlighted adoption of the SAP retail model company to reduce customizations and consolidate interfaces.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Retail Merchandising System | Retail Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2010 | 2011 |
In 2010, Riachuelo implemented Oracle Retail Merchandising System as its core Retail Management application to manage product distribution and allocation within its ERP footprint. The deployment positioned the Oracle Retail Merchandising System as the authoritative merchandising and allocation engine for inventory flow and assortment control across the organization.
Implementation centered on Oracle Retail Merchandising System modules RMS and ALLOCATION, configured to orchestrate product distribution and allocation workflows. Development and customization work was executed in PL SQL through procedures, packages, functions, and triggers, while application maintenance used Oracle Forms and Reports 10g and operational automation was supported by Shell Script on UNIX AIX.
Integrations were explicit and technical, with SAP integrated to RMS and ALLOCATION using BPEL and LOADER to exchange master data and allocation transactions. The integration pattern supported bidirectional data flows between SAP and the Oracle Retail Merchandising System, embedding the application into the broader retail IT ecosystem and operational data pipelines.
Operational governance assigned system ownership and production support responsibilities to the same team, who answered production calls and conducted functional and technical requirements surveys. Ongoing activities included PL SQL development, Forms and Reports maintenance, shell scripting for batch operations, and coordination of integration behavior under incident and change processes.
The Oracle Retail Merchandising System continued to serve core Retail Management functions for product distribution and allocation, acting as the central merchandising engine and integration hub for downstream ERP and SAP processes.
