| SAP | Legacy | SAP HCM (HR) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013 Lotterywest implemented SAP HCM (HR) as its Core HR application to centralize human resources and payroll functions for approximately 300 employees. The deployment positioned SAP HCM (HR) to support People and Culture and Corporate Services as the primary system for employee master data, organizational structure and payroll and superannuation processing.
Configuration work focused on payroll and superannuation processing, organizational management including maintenance of Lotterywest’s organisational chart in SAP, recruitment and on-boarding and off-boarding workflows, security access provisioning and HR records and analytics. The team explicitly managed SAP payroll system upgrades, prepared and executed test scripts, completed testing and contributed to problem resolution as part of ongoing application maintenance.
Operational coverage extended across whole of organisation HR services including job classification, induction, OH&S, workers compensation and injury management, with HR officers rotating through recruitment, payroll and system access responsibilities. The SAP HCM (HR) implementation supported reporting and compliance workflows to internal stakeholders including Senior Managers, the CEO and the Board, and coordinated external reporting processes to the Public Sector Commission, Office of Auditor General, ATO and ABS as part of statutory and public sector compliance.
Governance and process ownership rested with the People and Culture team, with role definitions for three Human Resources Officer positions and documented procedures for records management, HR analytics and access control. Release and change governance was operationalized through scripted testing and coordinated SAP payroll upgrades to ensure system stability and adherence to public sector guidelines and Lotterywest policies.
