The implementation included configuration and sustainment work across materials and production related modules, with explicit collaboration with MM, WM, PP, and PM functional areas. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was extended with ABAP development for custom reports, module pool screens, and enhancements to align warehouse and production processes with financial posting and inventory valuation flows.
Operational integration and technical interfaces were managed through ABAP artifacts and middleware patterns, using RFC and BAPI for synchronous interfaces and IDoc and batch input for inbound and outbound flows. Development objects listed in the engagement included Adobe Forms, SAPScripts, SmartForms, User-Exits, Enhancements, ABAP OO programs, OSS note application, and runtime job orchestration with Automic UC4, supporting monitoring of jobs and inbound outbound flows.
Governance and delivery were run within the Marelli SAP Governance Area, with external ABAP consultants providing problem analysis, solution design and independent delivery. A focused plant go live between May and August 2018 saw bespoke ABAP programs created to replicate complex WM to PP flows that had previously been handled outside SAP, and ongoing responsibilities included performance improvement, creation and monitoring of SAP jobs and workflows and close cooperation with functional process owners.

In 2016, Magneti Marelli Europe implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as part of a broader global HRIS program. SAP SuccessFactors Compensation was deployed to provide centralized Compensation Management across the organization and to align pay processes with performance management and succession activities.
The implementation formed one element of a multi-module SAP SuccessFactors rollout that included Learning, Performance and Goal, Succession Planning, Compensation, and Recruiting. Configuration work focused on standardizing compensation cycles, approval workflows and eligibility rules, and integrating performance ratings into variable pay calculations, while leveraging SAP Fiori to create customized user experience enhancements and automation tailored to client requirements.
The architecture was delivered as a single SAP SuccessFactors based HCM platform intended to support 24 countries, with integrated development of Payroll and Time Management using Alight Solutions proprietary technology. Travel and expense management was integrated using SAP Concur, creating a connected HR to payroll to T and E information flow across regions.
Alight Solutions acted as the implementation partner, driving governance and program execution together with Marelli leadership. Project governance emphasized international program management capability, strong client supplier collaboration, and change management to address remote working constraints and social distancing requirements experienced during the COVID period.
Early operational outcomes cited in program reporting include a 97 percent adoption rate achieved in five weeks for the first performance campaign run on the new platform. The program intent remains a single Human Capital Management solution for simplified and standardized administrative and talent processes across Marelli’s global footprint.

Operational integration included instrumentation of inbound and outbound message flows with IDoc, RFC and BAPI patterns, and bespoke program development to replicate complex WM-PP flows during a new plant onboarding in May 2018. Ongoing duties included monitoring and correcting machines, jobs, and inbound outbound flows, with ABAP development providing problem analysis and solution design to maintain cross-module transaction consistency between PM, MM, WM and PP.
Governance emphasized direct cooperation between ABAP development and functional teams, with consultants responsible for customizing, applying OSS Notes, scheduling jobs, and targeted performance improvement. The program delivered programmatic replication of complex warehouse and production flows and established routine monitoring and performance tuning processes, with consultants operating independently to deliver timely fixes and enhancements.
