SAP Legacy SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial ERP Financial Management Capgemini 2014 2015
In 2014, Manchester Airports Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform to centralize core financial and workforce management processes across the Group. The implementation established SAP S/4 HANA as the primary application for finance and related transactional workflows, covering operations at Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands airports and aligning with the Group's enterprise resource planning objectives. The deployment included configuration of finance modules and employee lifecycle capabilities consistent with ERP Financial use cases, with an architecture strategy that later embraced cloud migration through RISE with SAP. In the extended program MAG worked with Capgemini and partnered with AWS and SAP to operationalize a phased cloud architecture, positioning SAP S/4 HANA alongside SAP Ariba and SAP SuccessFactors to unify procurement, payroll and HR processes and to standardize financial reporting and master data management. Governance for the initiative was run through a Project Build Back Smarter roadmap, with phased rollouts, resiliency planning and cross-departmental alignment between finance, HR and airport operations teams. The Group went live on RISE in March 2022 as a first cloud-phase deployment, with explicit plans to lift and shift existing ECC estates into the cloud and then transition to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, aiming to support recovery and become more agile, automated and insights-driven.

SAP Legacy SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Core HR HCM Capgemini 2014 2015
In 2014 MAG (Airports Group) implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as its Core HR solution. The deployment was delivered by Capgemini and established SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as the central cloud HR information system for employee master data and organizational management across the enterprise. The implementation focused on Core HR capabilities, with configuration centered on employee records, organizational structures, position and job data, and standard HR lifecycle workflows typical of a Core HR application. SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central was provisioned as a cloud SaaS platform and configured to support HR case handling and HR processes while enabling future integration points. Integrations implemented as part of the program connected SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central with payroll landscape using SAP ECP payroll, ER Case Management, Benefits Management, and Workforce Management tooling referenced by the HR product team. The architecture reflects a cloud-centric Core HR hub approach, with Capgemini responsible for integration mapping, data model alignment, and cutover planning. Ongoing governance is managed through a dedicated HR and Payroll product function that owns the SuccessFactors roadmap, backlog prioritisation, business process analysis, and cross-functional release coordination. The HR & Payroll product manager role drives alignment between technical delivery and non-technical stakeholders, orchestrating product improvements and staged releases to maintain SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as MAG (Airports Group) Core HR platform.
