Serrala Legacy Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable AP Automation ERP Financial Management n/a 2015 2015
In 2015, Marathon Petroleum Mexico implemented Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable to centralize invoice processing and control AP workflows. The Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable deployment targeted AP Automation use cases across the company's finance and operations activities. Configuration focused on invoice coding and approval routing to mirror existing SAP and Dolphin System posting practices, including PO based matching for purchase and service requisitions. Functional modules implemented included electronic invoice capture and workflow routing, one-call distribution for approver notifications, and expense report auditing for corporate and personal card charges. Operational support workflows retained Microsoft Excel for KPI reporting, inspection trackers, phone spreadsheets and ad hoc data entry to reconcile transactions and produce management reports. The implementation integrated Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable with SAP and the Dolphin System for postings, with explicit handling of vendor setup and compliance checks tied to ISNetworld records. Operational coverage included finance, accounts payable, vendor relations, procurement and field operations, and extended to mailroom and logistics coordination for incoming and outgoing mail and FedEx handling. ARI vehicle assignment and cost per mile reporting workflows continued to feed expense and cost center coding into AP processes. Governance changes formalized one-call approval distribution and standardized purchase requisition and goods receipt procedures in SAP, while instituting routine vendor documentation reviews to keep ISNetworld records current. Process ownership resided with finance and operations stakeholders, with the Business Improvement Team overseeing procedure updates, weekly manager on-call schedules and monthly inspection and safety paperwork submissions. The implementation emphasized consistent coding, auditable approval trails and vendor relationship controls within the Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable environment.

GE Digital Legacy GE Digital Predix APM Asset Performance Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, Marathon Petroleum Mexico deployed GE Digital Predix APM as an Asset Performance Management solution and adopted Digital Twin technology to create software representations of physical assets and systems for detection, prevention, and optimization. The deployment supports more than 1,300 APM users across multiple business units for day to day reliability operations, with GE Digital Predix APM positioned as the central reliability platform for operational monitoring and issue resolution. Marathon configured GE Digital Predix APM to address core reliability workflows and to embed Digital Twin capabilities into routine maintenance and inspection processes. The implementation emphasized operational support rather than a one time cutover, establishing a designated APM resource with intimate knowledge of customer configurations, customized training, and a maintained task list to accelerate capability adoption and resolve issues more quickly. The program operated alongside Marathon’s enterprise systems, after Marathon implemented SAP and observed that certain SAP modules were deeply customized and difficult to adapt to its existing reliability program. Marathon worked to better leverage enterprise asset management and APM capabilities together, aligning GE Digital Predix APM outputs with broader EAM workflows and reliability data to improve timeliness and quality of issue resolution. Governance was formalized through a customized operational support agreement that combined onsite functional support with technical offsite assistance, recurring monthly meetings to review projects and upgrades, and periodic strategic reviews. The result was improved daily use of the Asset Performance Management platform and higher quality operational support, with the support agreement providing ongoing service, flexible program design, and a steady cadence for roadmap and upgrade discussions.
