In 2015, MathWorks implemented Oracle E-Business Suite to consolidate ERP Financial functions within its finance organization. The Oracle E-Business Suite deployment recorded payments to the general ledger for electronic ACHs, wire transfers, lock box checks, credit cards, and direct deposit checks, and operated alongside Salesforce to manage payment-related customer and transaction data flows.
Configuration work focused on general ledger posting rules and cash application processes, aligning accounts receivable and cash management capabilities to handle multiple payment instruments. Standard ERP Financial workflows were implemented to automate payment posting, matching, and lock box reconciliation, with mapping rules established to route different payment types to the correct ledger accounts.
The integration with Salesforce provided transactional handoff for payment events and customer payment status, enabling Oracle E-Business Suite to act as the system of record for posted payments. Operational coverage included finance, accounts receivable, and treasury functions, and governance concentrated on standardized reconciliation and recordkeeping workflows managed within Oracle E-Business Suite.

In 2017, MathWorks implemented Workday Absence Management to centralize administration of employee leaves and accommodations, aligning the deployment with its Absence and Leave Management requirements. The implementation supported management of FMLA, MA PFML, ADA accommodations, short and long term disability, and workers compensation cases, and it was administered by a Leave of Absence and Accommodations Specialist working closely with HR business partners and management.
Workday Absence Management was configured to handle absence plans, case management workflows, medical documentation intake and review, approval recommendation routing, leave extensions, and return to work processing. Configuration included interactive accommodation workflows to guide reasonable accommodation determinations, and case-level recordkeeping to maintain complete, timely, and accurate files in accordance with company policy and applicable state and federal laws.
Operational scope covered leave administration, benefits coordination, payroll interfacing, and HR reporting; the team administered leaves and accommodations within Workday while ensuring accurate flow to payroll. The implementation also supported guidance for claim filing for state leave programs, long term disability, workers compensation, and insurance claims, and produced reports used to analyze trends and recommend leave policy and process improvements.
Governance established the Leave of Absence and Accommodations Specialist as a subject matter expert and consultant to HR business partners, responsible for approvals, interactive process facilitation, mentoring team members, and maintaining confidentiality of medical information. The role included drafting revisions to leave policies and leave tracking in Workday, participating in special projects to support global collaboration and process improvement, and creating reports and analytics to inform ongoing compliance and operational adjustments.
