In 2011 Matson implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as an ERP Financial application. The deployment began in November 2011 and remains the primary system covering Financials, HR/Payroll and SCM modules.
The Oracle E-Business Suite implementation focused on core financial management and workforce processes, aligning general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows with payroll and human resources processing, and supply chain functions such as procurement and inventory control. Configuration work included management reporting enablement to support finance and HR decisioning, consistent with typical ERP Financial capabilities.
Project governance included a formal vendor evaluation phase, where product evaluation was managed across multiple ERP application vendors, and requirements gathering was led to document local accounting and statutory needs. Contract negotiations were completed with Oracle Cloud Services to provide hosting and support arrangements for the Oracle E-Business Suite environment.
Operational scope centered on Finance, HR and supply chain teams, with the project manager role responsible for managing requirements collection, steering ERP application evaluation, producing management reporting specifications, developing questionnaires and materials to capture statutory and local accounting requirements, and negotiating Oracle Cloud Services contracts. The implementation has been maintained in production from November 2011 to present.

In 2011 Matson implemented Oracle E-Business Suite HRMS as the company Core HR solution, beginning a broader Oracle E-Business Suite program initiated in November 2011 that continues to the present and includes Financials, HR/Payroll and SCM components. The Oracle E-Business Suite HRMS deployment was positioned to centralize human resources and payroll processing while aligning finance and supply chain modules under a single enterprise suite.
As project manager, responsibilities included managing requirements gathering, orchestrating ERP applications evaluation and shaping management reporting requirements, and leading product evaluation with multiple ERP application vendors. The implementation workstream explicitly covered HR and payroll configuration, financial posting and statutory accounting requirements, and supply chain modules, with materials and questionnaires developed to capture local accounting and financial statutory requirements for Finance and HR.
Governance and operational coverage focused on Finance and HR teams, with the program owner negotiating contracts with Oracle Cloud Services to secure hosting and support terms. Ongoing stewardship has maintained the Oracle E-Business Suite HRMS as Matson Core HR infrastructure while coordinating cross-functional requirements collection and management reporting across the affected business functions.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2014 | 2018 |
In 2014 Matson implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) as part of the GATES project to port FACTS mainframe functionality to a web-based platform, aligning the Microsoft BI deployment with core booking, billing and rate engine workflows. The implementation targeted functional areas that create bookings, bill shipments, generate quotations and templates, maintain commodities and link containers to bookings, supporting the companys multi-modal logistics operations across its transportation network.
The Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) stack was used to deliver a mix of Custom, Tabular, Matrix and distributed reports and to orchestrate ETL and semantic modeling. SSIS packages were used to stage and transform operational data, SSAS delivered analytical models and tabular semantics, and SSRS produced scheduled and on-demand reports in multiple formats, supplementing existing Crystal Reports artifacts where needed. The web application feeding the BI layer was developed with an n-tier architecture using class libraries, data entities, services, a data access layer, business logic layer and stored procedures.
The BI implementation integrated with Matsons Oracle backend and PL/SQL processes, and with the GATES MVC Web API that exchanged JSON payloads after initial page load, enabling near real-time reportable events from bookings and rating operations. Development and release governance used Team Foundation Server for version control, team builds, project management, data collection and reporting, while the application landscape included WCF and RESTful Web API services for service layer interactions.
Operational governance emphasized agile SDLC practices, requirement analysis, design and iterative development cycles tied to high priority enhancements for the GATES application. Reporting and analytics ownership was aligned with logistics, operations and billing teams to ensure semantic models reflected rate engine and shipment billing rules, and deployments followed the teams TFS-managed build and release processes.
