| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2023 | 2024 |
In 2023 Mattel implemented Workday Absence Management as part of its Workday Cloud HCM environment to centralize Absence and Leave Management for HR and payroll functions. The deployment sits alongside Workday HCM, Security, Advanced Compensation and Performance Management modules, and was executed from the company’s existing Workday environment in San Francisco, CA.
The implementation focused on configuring Time Off plans and accrual calculations, eligibility rules, Attendance Occurrence tracking, and tailored FMLA and Covid Sick Leave policies for US Massachusetts employees. Workday Absence Management was configured to support year end activities including uploading Holiday calendars and floating holidays and to adjust accruals, reflecting standard absence plan administration and leave entitlement calculations.
Operational integration used Workday EIBs and inbound loads to update time off and calendar data, and leveraged existing Workday integrations and custom object EIB loads for related employee data updates. The broader Workday environment workstreams ran in parallel with NGF financial account configuration and Advanced Compensation cycles, ensuring alignment of time off records with compensation and payroll processes where account code mapping to a future Oracle Cloud target was specified.
Governance changes included rule based business process configuration, validation rules, alerts and notifications to enforce audit compliant approval steps for HR business processes, role based security groups for approval flows, and documented eligibility and notification rules to standardize absence requests and approvals. The project emphasized process controls and security configuration within Workday Absence Management to support compliance and consistent leave administration.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Fusion Cloud Fixed Assets | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2023 | 2023 |
In 2023 Mattel implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud Fixed Assets as its Enterprise Asset Management solution. The deployment was executed within the Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications environment to centralize fixed asset accounting, provide a controlled asset master, and support subledger depreciation and reconciliation workflows.
Configuration centered on core fixed assets capabilities including asset creation and hierarchies, capitalization and depreciation scheduling, asset transfers, retirements and disposals, and asset accounting interfaces to the general ledger. Implementation artifacts and delivery responsibilities included design and development of Reports, Integrations, Conversions, and Extensions objects, with unit testing and operational reporting built using BI Publisher, OTBI, and Narrative Reporting. Security role configuration, data security rules, and custom role development were implemented alongside cloud system administration to enforce access controls and segregation of duties.
Integrations were implemented with Oracle ERP financial domains including GL, AP, AR, FA, PO, Cash Management, Supply Chain Management and Projects to ensure transactional and accounting alignment across procure to pay, project capitalization, and inventory movements. Operational coverage emphasized finance and asset accounting functions and extended to procurement and project finance processes, aligning fixed asset events with upstream procurement and project systems.
Governance and rollout processes were structured around technical and functional collaboration, with Solutions Architect oversight for RICE object design, documentation, unit test support, and report governance. Controls focused on role based access, data security enforcement, and standardized report and integration ownership to sustain ongoing cloud system administration and change control for Oracle Fusion Cloud Fixed Assets.
