In 2014, MiHomecare deployed SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the core enterprise system for finance and procurement following an acquisition, implementing the solution as its ERP Financial platform. The implementation was delivered at UK scale with centralized lead from the head office in Woking and reporting interfaces into the UK parent in Bristol, covering the main trading entity and around 10 smaller UK entities for statutory consolidation and monthly reporting under UK GAAP.
The project workstream was anchored on Materials Management and Financials, with explicit SAP Materials Management Consultant activity that included MM workshops, blueprinting, configuration, authorisations, and unit, integration and UAT testing. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was configured to support core procurement, inventory and accounts processes while SAP Financials components were implemented to support consolidation, billing, accounts payable, credit control and payroll accounting workflows.
Integrations and operational coverage included tested integration points to payroll systems as part of a wider initiative to centralize UK payroll onto SAP HCM, and operational handoffs with finance functions such as billing and credit control. The rollout targeted finance and shared services functions and involved business process alignment for month end consolidation, reporting to the UK parent and operational support for domiciliary care billing workflows.
Governance followed a structured blueprint and testing cadence, with the finance controller acting as a key project contributor during blueprint and implementation phases and formal UAT cycles executed prior to release. Go live was delivered to plan in July 2014, with the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial deployment completing the scheduled cutover for finance and procurement modules.
