In 2022 Mitsis Hotels connected protel Hotel PMS to Voxel's Bavel Billing to digitalize B2B invoicing across its Greek hotel chain, using the protel Hotel PMS as the Hotel Property Management platform that feeds billing and folio data. The project centered on finance and accounts receivable automation, integrating property folios and guest ledger information with an electronic invoicing engine to automate invoice issuance workflows.
The implementation used protel Hotel PMS data to drive invoicing automation and e-invoicing processes, with Voxel handling the billing orchestration and document issuance. Configuration work focused on mapping reservation and folio records to billing templates, automating invoice generation, and enabling electronic delivery for B2B customers, consistent with Hotel Property Management operational flows.
Integration scope covered the chain level, connecting individual property systems to Voxel's Bavel Billing so invoices could be produced centrally while remaining source-linked to each property account. The finance and accounts receivable teams were the primary operational owners, and the solution enabled automated issuance of more than 70,000 invoices in 2022 while reducing manual processing effort by approximately 6,400 staff hours per year.
Governance changes included centralizing invoice issuance and establishing a controlled electronic billing pipeline, with workflow handoffs from property-level folio capture in protel Hotel PMS to the e-invoicing engine. The deployment emphasized auditability and repeatable AR workflows, aligning Hotel Property Management data flows with finance process automation across Mitsis Hotels.
