In 2022, N Brown deployed Oracle Cloud ERP as its ERP Financial platform to centralize financial accounting and support a parallel build-out of a new financial services platform FSP. The deployment targeted the Finance function and the Financial Services division, anchored at the Manchester head office, to provide a single financial ledger and reporting source for both retail and credit operations.
Oracle Cloud ERP was configured to deliver core financial accounting capabilities including general ledger, accounts receivable, cash and collections workflows, and statutory reporting while structuring data to support P and L and balance sheet forecasting. Configuration included credit accounting flows to capture expected credit losses and debtor book movements, and interfaces were designed to feed planning and reporting engines such as TM1 alongside SQL and Teradata extracts for analytical queries.
Integration work focused on onboarding customer account data, collections telemetry and migration cohorts from the new FSP into Oracle Cloud ERP, with scoped data and assumption requirements for new credit customers and migrated portfolios. Cross-functional collaboration with customer operations, credit risk and collections teams provided the inputs required for forecast models and management information, reflecting the Commercial Finance Manager responsibilities described in the role.
Governance was established under the Head of Finance Financial Services, with the Commercial Finance Manager accountable for building and versioning forecast models, defining assumptions for P and L and balance sheet behaviour, and supplying MI to monitor debtor performance. Controls emphasized alignment between ERP financial ledgers and forecasting models to support ongoing adoption of the FSP and to maintain traceability of assumptions and data sources.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Cloud HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2016 | 2017 |
In 2016, N Brown implemented Oracle Cloud HCM. The Oracle Cloud HCM deployment served as the company Core HR platform and formed part of a cloud first program that moved its Oracle Retail Suite, Fusion Financials and HR onto an IBM Managed cloud in 2016.
Oracle Cloud HCM was configured to provide standard Core HR capabilities, including persistent employee records, organizational and position management, absence and time administration, and HR workflow automation for hire to retire processes. The implementation emphasized centralization of employee master data and common HR process templates to reduce administrative fragmentation across HR teams.
The Oracle Cloud HCM instance operated alongside Oracle Fusion Financials and the Oracle Retail Suite within the broader Oracle footprint that N Brown hosted on IBM Managed cloud, enabling cross-domain data alignment between HR and finance for workforce costing and HR-related financial transactions. Subsequent moves in 2019 to adopt Oracle ERP Cloud for finance and the later engagement of Oracle Retail Consulting to implement Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting Cloud Service show continuing integration of Oracle Cloud HCM with N Brown’s enterprise cloud services.
Governance followed the retailer’s cloud first orientation, consolidating HR and finance operational ownership and standardizing master data governance across the UK retail business. The implementation positioned Oracle Cloud HCM as the canonical Core HR system supporting HR operations, workforce administration and downstream integrations into finance and retail planning systems.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Retail (ex Retek) | Retail Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 N Brown implemented Oracle Retail (ex Retek) as its central Retail Management application. The program emphasized centralization of product data and merchandising workflows across the retailer's UK operations, building on targeted ETL engagement completed in 2015 that prepared product and product copy content for the new retail stack.
Configuration centered on product and product copy management within Oracle Retail (ex Retek), aligning catalog and merchandising data models to support downstream channels. The implementation linked retail master data to financial flows through Oracle Fusion Financials and to commerce and fulfillment layers identified as RPM and Hybris, with Oracle staging databases used as the authoritative ingestion zone.
Data integration was executed via Oracle Data Integrator 11g based ETL pipelines, extracting from DB2 based systems into Oracle staging databases, transforming product records and loading them into Oracle Retail and Oracle Fusion Financials. The ETL engagement ran from March 2015 to October 2015 in Manchester, United Kingdom, and covered extract, transformation and loading of Product and Product Copy data to feed the Retail Management system.
Operational scope included merchandising and product data management teams and finance interfaces for posting to Oracle Fusion Financials, with governance organized around staging-based validation and scheduled ODI orchestration. Oracle Retail (ex Retek) functioned as the Retail Management backbone to centralize catalog data and to provide consistent product information to RPM and Hybris channels.
