Oracle Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Oracle Cloud ERP ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2021 2022
In 2021, Ninety One Group implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as part of a rapid carve‑out and cloud adoption following its demerger, replacing Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne for core financial processing. The deployment is categorized as ERP Financial and was delivered alongside Oracle Cloud EPM and Oracle Cloud Budgeting and Planning to create a unified cloud finance platform within nine months. The Oracle Cloud ERP implementation covered core financial modules, specifically a new general ledger, accounts payables and receivables, cash management, and fixed assets. The program also introduced Oracle Procurement Cloud for purchase-to-pay transparency and lease accounting capabilities to automate IFRS16 reporting, while Oracle Cloud EPM provided financial planning, budgeting, monthly consolidation, narrative reporting, and integration with the accounting ledger. Historic HR data was migrated into database cubes in Oracle Essbase to consolidate human capital information with financial planning workflows. Integration work established true operational connectivity between Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Cloud EPM, including automated daily loading of foreign exchange rates and use of Oracle Cloud Currency Reporting for restatements, revaluations, and reporting currency ledgers. The implementation included configuration of enterprise financial structures early in the project to ensure consistent translation of balances into the primary base currency and to support consolidated reporting for shareholders. Namos Solutions partnered on the program, helping Ninety One think through enterprise structures, map a target operating model, and define business requirements during the fast-paced nine month rollout. Governance changes emphasized controlled close processes, consolidated planning workflows, and collaborative narrative reporting to support annual report production and cross-functional financial planning. The cloud native architecture removed onerous on-premises upgrade constraints by adopting Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Cloud EPM with automatic quarterly updates, enabling the firm to adapt processes and consume new functionality more rapidly. Oracle Cloud ERP, as an ERP Financial platform, now provides Ninety One with integrated financial controls, planning integration, procurement transparency, and automated currency and lease accounting capabilities.
