| SAP | Legacy | SAP Concur Expense | Expense Management | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Nisa implemented SAP Concur Expense as its primary Expense Management solution. The deployment centralized employee expense submission and approvals across Nisa's UK retail and distribution operations, supporting a workforce of about 1,500 employees and aligning expense workflows with corporate financial controls.
Configuration of SAP Concur Expense covered standard Expense Management capabilities, including electronic claim capture for mileage and car allowances, corporate card spend management and reconciliation, VAT classification and checks, gift declaration workflows, configurable approval routing, and executive expense reporting dashboards. The implementation supported processing of mileage, car allowances and sundry employee expenses, along with the production of weekly and monthly expense figures used in cash flow reporting.
Operational integration points reflected explicit operational practices, with daily payment checks performed through Eiger Pay and regular extraction of banking figures for cash flow review. Expense data and deduction inputs were used to drive monthly salary deductions for personal mileage and corporate card overspend, and the system was embedded into finance operations that supported distribution and partner store reporting.
Governance and process changes established role level ownership and recurring controls, including weekly and monthly expense reviews with senior leadership via an expenses and overheads dashboard, active challenge workflows for non travel spend, managed gift declaration processes, and daily reconciliation tasks aligned to the financial reporting calendar. Day to day system administration and claim processing were performed by finance roles such as Accounts Assistant and Assistant Accountant who also coordinated cost centre analysis, VAT checks and ad hoc payment processing.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Micros Retail J | Point Of Sale | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2003 | 2003 |
In 2003 Nisa implemented Oracle Micros Retail J as a Point Of Sale initiative to build a single platform for streamlined connectivity across its retail estate. The deployment focused on centralizing order capture and front-end transaction handling while creating a unified integration layer between the Retek Integration Bus, existing packaged and legacy systems, the Oracle database and AS/400 mainframe applications.
The implementation includes a new order capture system and a programmatic replacement of merchandising and distribution management systems with Retek, with Oracle Micros Retail J serving as the Point Of Sale front-end for transaction and order entry. Functional configuration emphasized centralized order capture, transaction management, and front-end visibility to enable effective tracking of orders as they are entered into the system.
Architecturally the solution positions the Retek Integration Bus as the integration backbone connecting Oracle Micros Retail J to backend data stores and enterprise systems, enabling interoperable interfaces with packaged applications and mainframe processes. Operational scope covers merchandising, distribution, order management and store operations, aligning POS workflows with downstream fulfillment and inventory processes.
Governance and rollout required restructuring merchandising and distribution workflows to align with the Retek driven back-end and the centralized POS front-end, and the centralized approach is designed to provide effective order tracking and to enable optimization of business performance through unified order visibility.
