In 2019, Normet Group Australia implemented Workday HCM as its Core HR platform to support end to end recruitment and broader human capital management across the APAC region. The Workday HCM deployment was positioned to manage applicant tracking activities including preparing advertisements, screening, shortlisting, interviews, references, background checks and arranging medicals, consolidating recruiting workflow into the new system.
The implementation encompassed functional modules for Recruiting, Core HR records and document management, Performance Management and reporting and analytics for headcount and turnover. Workday HCM was configured to support policy and procedure documentation, registers and compliance workflows, and to underpin employee relations case management including counselling, discipline and performance appraisal processes.
Operational coverage extended across APAC countries including Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and Taiwan, with responsibilities for visa coordination, immigration advice and arranging medicals noted as part of day to day use. The project also supported monthly reporting and analysis of personnel headcount and turnover for APAC and facilitated internal HR training on topics such as Performance Appraisal, Performance Management, Bullying and Harassment, Code of Conduct, Workday HRM usage, Bonus Plans and Employee Engagement Survey Results.
Governance and process changes included development and maintenance of the full suite of HR documentation to ensure legal compliance, conducting audits on personnel and national wage reviews, and interpreting modern awards and related legislation for managers and employees. The program included coordination with Normet Oy to develop, test and train managers and employees on newly updated Workday modules and active participation in global HR meetings as part of rollout and ongoing governance.
