| Benefitfocus | Legacy | Benefitfocus Benefitplace | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 North American Lighting implemented Benefitfocus Benefitplace to manage company benefits under the Benefits Administration category. The deployment was positioned to support HR and Total Rewards functions across the North American employee base, with local HR administration activities noted at Paris Illinois and onsite support for two 60 employee facilities earlier in the HR lifecycle documentation.
Benefitfocus Benefitplace was configured to cover core Benefits Administration workflows including benefits enrollment and eligibility management, ACA and government reporting workflows such as 5500 and EEOC, and administration of both qualified and non qualified retirement arrangements. The Total Rewards team used the platform in concert with internal compensation processes, merit and promotion workflows, and plan design activities, while also supporting self insured medical plan administration for over 5,100 participants and 11,000 members with $75 million plus in annual costs.
The implementation operated alongside payroll and HR systems, with explicit integrations and data handoffs to Kronos and SAP to ensure payroll and W 2 accuracy, and coexistence with SAP SuccessFactors for performance and goals management. Benefitfocus Benefitplace functions were linked into reporting and compliance routines used by the compensation committee and HR leadership for policy approvals and required filings.
Governance centered on the Total Rewards team and a compensation committee driven approval model, with the Total Rewards manager and compensation and benefits analysts leading ongoing configuration, vendor reporting, and regulatory filing processes. Operational coverage included benefits, payroll coordination, FMLA administration, and retirement plan administration including a company 401k with over 6,000 participants and approximately $400 million in assets, and the platform supported the organization level controls and recurring reporting necessary for those functions.

In 2015, North American Lighting implemented Plex ERP as its Manufacturing ERP across the organization. The initial deployment targeted eight U.S. facilities, including four technologically advanced manufacturing plants, tool and equipment sites, and research and management offices, consolidating manufacturing operations onto a single cloud-based platform.
The Plex ERP configuration emphasized inventory management and materials control, shop-floor data capture, and real-time production visibility. Functional capabilities implemented included centralized inventory and materials tracking, production recordkeeping, and synchronized bill of materials workflows to support traceability and shop-floor-to-enterprise information flows.
Plex ERP was brought live across all eight facilities to provide real-time connectivity between plant operations and corporate functions, enabling cross-site inventory coordination and consolidated operational reporting. The deployment connected manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering processes through a unified Manufacturing ERP instance to improve operational alignment across sites.
Governance was organized around centralized configuration and cross-functional process alignment between manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering teams, with rollout coverage limited to North American sites. The implementation supported precise inventory management and achieved significant savings in raw materials as reported following the go-live.
