In 2009, Nuklearna Elektrarna Krsko began implementing Hitachi Energy eSOMS as a Workforce Scheduling application to digitalize shift operations and operational workflows for plant operations and operations management in Slovenia. The program targeted on-site operational control and crew scheduling rather than enterprise HR modules, aligning the Hitachi Energy eSOMS deployment to plant-level workforce coordination.
Nuklearna Elektrarna Krsko configured Hitachi Energy eSOMS to support digital shift operations, tagout and lockout clearances, electronic logbooks, and mobile operator rounds. Functional capabilities implemented included clearance management, electronic logging, mobile rounds workflow automation, and rostered shift handover processes consistent with Workforce Scheduling functional terminology.
The systems integrator OSIR-ERPIS supported the deployment, with partner involvement documented on the vendor partner page. Governance changes emphasized formalized clearance workflows and standardized electronic logging procedures, creating tighter controls around tagout and lockout processes and consistent operator round documentation.
Project notes report that the implementation delivered improved operator rounds, more consistent electronic logging and tighter clearance controls within plant operations in Slovenia. The rollout scope remained centered on operations management and plant crews, with operational processes restructured around the Hitachi Energy eSOMS application.

In 2010, Nuklearna Elektrarna Krsko implemented Oracle Enterprise Asset Management as part of an Oracle E-Business Suite deployment focused on Enterprise Asset Management. The rollout was aligned with a broader investment program to extend the operational life of the 30-year-old Krško nuclear power plant, which supplies a majority of electricity to Slovenia and Croatia.
The implementation concentrated on core Enterprise Asset Management capabilities, including an asset registry and hierarchy, work order management and maintenance scheduling, preventive maintenance planning, spare parts and materials management, equipment history tracking, and compliance-oriented maintenance workflows. Oracle Enterprise Asset Management was configured to support safety-critical maintenance processes and asset lifecycle governance consistent with nuclear operations.
The program was delivered and continues to be supported by SI OSIR-ERPIS, which supervised the implementation and provides ongoing updates to the Oracle E-Business Suite environment. The project also implemented the full range of public procurement modules to create an integrated procurement-to-contract flow, and later adopted Oracle Procurement Cloud in April 2018 to enable electronic vendor quotations and to streamline supplier negotiations and compliance monitoring.
Governance changes included formalized procurement workflows from initial requisition steps through negotiation and supplier compliance tracking, and operational coverage encompassed maintenance, procurement and plant safety functions. Post-implementation descriptions note that the Krško Nuclear Power Plant became one of the most modern nuclear facilities in the region, characterized by a high level of safety and more transparent procurement procedures following the Oracle EAM and procurement deployments.
