Workday Legacy Workday Financial Management ERP Financial ERP n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, nVent Electric implemented Workday Financial Management. Workday Financial Management was deployed as the core ERP Financial application to consolidate accounting and financial operations across nVent's global manufacturing footprint. The implementation focused on standard ERP Financial modules and configurations common to large manufacturing firms, including a centralized general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and financial reporting capabilities. Configuration emphasized multi-entity consolidation, multi-currency posting, tax-aware transaction processing, and audit-ready transaction trails to support statutory and management reporting across nVent's portfolio of brands. Operational design accounted for cross-functional accounting flows tied to payroll operations, reflecting internal payroll responsibilities that process multi-state payroll for over 3,000 employees on weekly and semi-monthly schedules. Workday Financial Management configurations included posting rules and control points to capture payroll-related earnings and deductions for accounting and tax compliance, and supported interfaces for timekeeping and payroll accounting requirements driven by corporate payroll teams. Governance and rollout centered on centralizing finance and accounting workflows under a common chart of accounts and month-end close discipline, while preserving region-level transactional controls. Implementation planning addressed confidentiality and audit controls for sensitive payroll and tax data, and enabled finance, accounting, and treasury teams to standardize processes for financial close, reporting, and compliance across nVent's global operations.

Workday Legacy Workday Absence Management Absence and Leave Management HCM n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, nVent Electric implemented Workday Absence Management to centralize absence administration and standardize time-off processes. The deployment targeted the Absence and Leave Management category to consolidate leave tracking, eligibility rules, request and approval workflows, and absence reporting within HR operations. Workday Absence Management was configured to support standard absence plans, accrual calculation logic, request and approval routing, and compliance-oriented reporting. The implementation emphasized configuration of business rules and absence plans consistent with Absence and Leave Management functional expectations, and included setup for automated notifications and employee self-service for time-off requests. Operational coverage centered on HR and workforce management functions inside nVent Electric, with the application positioned as the system of record for employee leave and time-off processes. The rollout focused on aligning absence policies and approval workflows across the organization, and integrating the application into established HR operational procedures rather than introducing new external technology stacks. Governance and stabilization were supported by a Time and Absence consultant who assisted during the go-live and knowledge transfer activities, enabling internal teams to operate and maintain Workday Absence Management after launch. Workday Absence Management at nVent Electric was thus established as the companys primary Absence and Leave Management solution, with documented configuration and operational ownership transferred to HR during stabilization.

Infor Legacy Infor M3 Manufacturing ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, nVent Electric implemented Infor M3 CloudSuite as its Manufacturing ERP to consolidate multiple ERP systems into a single core solution, with the initial go live at the Andrezieux, France site in the first half of 2021. The deployment is explicitly framed as a consolidation to support a seamless customer journey and to make operations ready to scale, aligning the nVent Electric Infor M3 Manufacturing ERP investment with broader digitization objectives. The implementation configured Infor M3 CloudSuite to digitize end to end supply chain processes, focusing on planning to shipping workflows and industry specific manufacturing capabilities typical of a Manufacturing ERP. The solution runs on Amazon Web Services, reflecting a cloud first architecture, and was positioned as a component of nVent’s four strategic digital pillars that include digitizing go to market, digitizing operations, and data platform and analytics capabilities. Rollout and integration coverage was phased geographically, with Tilburg in The Netherlands coming online in the first half of 2022, and five Asia Pacific sites in the fourth quarter of 2022 across Shanghai, Qingdao, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney, with plans to extend to North America in 2023 alongside additional Infor modules and new integrations. The program engaged Columbus as a global implementation partner together with Infor, leveraging Columbus’ global and local consulting resources to support site level configuration and regional operational requirements. Project governance was managed from Europe and the United States, with a cross continental delivery team of approximately 100 nVent and Columbus resources and an emphasis on end user training to accelerate adoption. Outcomes stated by nVent include dramatically enhanced velocity by shrinking lead times, improving customer response times, lowering processing costs, and empowering employees through more efficient business processes, all delivered within a reduced IT footprint as part of the transition to a 100 percent cloud operating model.
