In 2022 Obagi implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as part of an Oracle Fusion Cloud 22D rollout, deploying core financial and operational capabilities under the ERP Financial category. The engagement was led with implementation and ongoing architecture support from C3 Business Solutions and an on-site Oracle Fusion Cloud architect based in Long Beach, California, and targeted finance, supply chain, order management and product data management processes across the organization.
The implementation configured Oracle Cloud ERP modules and adjacent Oracle Fusion Cloud capabilities including a Product Data Hub and Customer Data Hub for master data management, OTBI and BI Publisher reporting with seeded Oracle Analytics content, FBDI and spreadsheet data import processes, and standard procurement and ordering functions. Order to cash functionality was provisioned for create order and import orders, pick release and ship confirm, AutoInvoice, bank and cash receipts, pricing strategies with price lists and discounts, reservations, pick waves, pack and ship, lot and serialization, returns and RMA processing, invoices and credit memos, collections, credit card processing, tax calculation and freight calculation.
Procure to pay processes were implemented covering create requisition, purchase order creation, inventory receipt processing, enter and import AP invoices, US 1099 processing, payment execution and transfer to general ledger, blanket purchase agreements, supplier management and payment profile setup, and inventory and no-catalog purchase order processing. Supply chain capabilities included forecasts, demand planning and Planning Central, bill of materials and item class management within the Product Data Hub, and new item requests and change order workflows. Financial module configuration focused on accounts receivable, accounts payable, Fix Accesses, journal approval rules and workflows, aging reports, bank reconciliation, month-end and year-end closing, costing processing and cash management within Oracle Cloud ERP.
Architecturally the deployment centered on Oracle Fusion Cloud as the transaction and master data platform, with embedded reporting and data loading technologies used for integration and operational reporting. The implementation emphasized master data governance for product and customer records, operational integrations for order import and payment processing, and embedded tax and freight calculation services as part of the Oracle Cloud ERP configuration. C3 Business Solutions provided the system integrator role and the Oracle Fusion Cloud architect led cross-functional IT and business teams to design, build and maintain the solution.
Governance and workflow change efforts included formalized journal approval rules and approval workflows, structured change order and new item request processes, and configuration of accounting closing controls to support month-end and year-end financial close. Ongoing support and maintenance were established through the on-site architect and the implementation partner to sustain master data stewardship and BI reporting in Oracle Cloud ERP.
