| OpenText | Legacy | OpenText Vendor Invoice Management | AP Automation | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Origin Energy implemented OpenText Vendor Invoice Management as part of an AP Automation initiative aligned with a broader SAP ERP consolidation program. The deployment of OpenText Vendor Invoice Management provided a centralized invoice processing layer for accounts payable within Origin Energy's financial operations.
The implementation focused on invoice capture, automated matching and validations, workflow-based exception handling, and electronic approval routing, consistent with typical AP Automation capabilities. Configuration emphasized three way matching to SAP purchase orders, vendor master alignment, and rules based tolerance handling to reduce manual touchpoints and exception volumes.
OpenText Vendor Invoice Management was integrated into the SAP landscape, linking to SAP S/4 HANA and SAP Ariba, and operating alongside SAP Concur and xECM within the consolidated environment. Integration work leveraged the program's SAP integration backbone and SAP Cloud Platform Integration prebuilt pathways for parallel People and Culture system modernizations, with DXC Technology coordinating data migration and system interfaces.
Operational coverage targeted finance, procurement, and accounts payable teams, introducing standardized vendor invoice procedures, common approval hierarchies, and staged rollout sequencing aligned with the wider ERP release plan to manage change across sites. Governance adjustments included centralized invoice controls, exception workflow ownership, and process standardization to reduce reconciliation effort.
As part of Origin Energy's integrated SAP and OpenText program, the company reported explicit operational outcomes including a reduction in reconciliations of over 90 percent compared to the previous ERP, projected savings out to the end of FY24, 90 percent of employees paid fortnightly after payroll standardization, and an over 50 percent reduction in inbound HR tickets. These results were reported by Origin Energy following the consolidated ERP and supporting application implementations.

In 2020, Origin Energy implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as its Compensation Management solution to formalize enterprise compensation planning within the People & Culture function. The program was led from People & Culture by Nilesh Singh, General Manager Employee Experience, and targeted structured salary review and variable pay processes across the organization in Australia.
The SAP SuccessFactors Compensation deployment focused on core compensation management capabilities, including merit and bonus cycle configuration, eligibility population management, total rewards statements, budget allocation and modeling, and multi-step approval workflows. Configuration work emphasized role-based access, pay matrix and band handling, and automated calculation templates to support repeatable annual and ad hoc compensation events.
Operational coverage centered on HR compensation workflows administered by People & Culture and aligned with workforce records and HR process governance. Implementation was performed inside the SAP SuccessFactors environment to centralize compensation planning and to support consistent audit trails, calibration sessions, and documentation of decision rationale for compensation outcomes.
Governance and rollout were structured around People & Culture ownership, with defined approval hierarchies, calibration checkpoints, and configuration control to maintain policy compliance and pay equity processes. Training and change adoption were organized by the Employee Experience leadership to embed new compensation workflows into existing HR operations.

In 2016, Origin Energy implemented Oracle Enterprise Asset Management to standardize asset lifecycle and maintenance operations. The deployment focused on Enterprise Asset Management capabilities to support industrial asset governance across Upstream, Downstream and LPG business groups.
The implementation covered core EAM functional modules such as an enterprise asset register, work order management, preventive maintenance scheduling, condition based monitoring workflows and spares and materials planning, aligned with typical Enterprise Asset Management functional workflows. Configuration emphasized work order lifecycle controls, maintenance planning and scheduling logic, planned versus unplanned work classification, and notifications and permit workflows for safe maintenance execution.
Oracle Enterprise Asset Management was integrated with the organizations Supply Chain Management instance to synchronize spare parts, procurement requisitions and inventory visibility for operational sites in Upstream, Downstream and LPG. Service delivery and ongoing application enhancement were handled by an internal Oracle applications team within the Oracle Solution Centre, providing support across business groups and coordinating production issue triage and resolution.
Governance established role based access, maintenance scheduling authority and change control processes for configuration updates, with structured incident analysis and in depth research to resolve production issues. The initiative prioritized operational continuity, steady state support and iterative application enhancement rather than a one time cutover.
