In 2017, Peraton implemented SAP Concur Travel as its Travel Management platform. The deployment began in October 2017 in Herndon, VA and was positioned to centralize corporate travel and expense processing across Peraton, formerly Harris Corporation.
The implementation established Concur Travel and Expense as the primary expense reporting and travel booking system, including a newer version and the newest SAP Concur module that the internal team configured and trained users on. Peraton instituted a 100 percent audit policy for all expense reports, staffed subject matter experts who provide System Admin Level Support, and created dedicated email mailboxes for Travel, Expense, and Credit Cards to support user inquiry triage and case management.
Operational integrations and vendor interfaces were managed directly, with Peraton acting as liaison to Concur Support, BCD Travel Agency, and Amex GBT. The program also encompassed credit card administration across Bank of American and American Express card programs, including the implementation work to deploy a new American Express card program, reconciliation of card accounts, fraud investigations, and coordination with accounting to correct project codes on expense reports.
Governance and process responsibilities included annual and ad hoc updates to corporate Travel and Credit Card policies developed with the Account Team and Compliance, support for DCAA audits and other internal and external audits, processing card applications and deactivations for termed employees, and delivery of Concur training to new and existing employees. The implementation consolidated travel and expense workflows under SAP Concur Travel in support of corporate compliance, auditing, and expense administration functions.
