IFS Copperleaf was positioned to centralize investment prioritization and provide a repeatable framework for constrained resource optimization that supports Asset Performance Management practices. Operational coverage centered on Asset Strategy and Investment and the Investment Optimization function, providing mechanisms to validate investment plans to external stakeholders and regulators and to assure long-term business sustainability by aligning capital plans to defined risk and value criteria. The project emphasized integration into Powerco’s existing asset management processes and established a single decision analytics layer for network-level capital planning across its New Zealand distribution network. Governance and process changes focused on standardized decision criteria, transparent audit trails for plan justification, and strengthened external validation workflows to meet regulatory scrutiny and shareholder expectations.
