In 2007, Preferred Sands implemented Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise as its ERP Financial system. Preferred Sands is a United States oil, gas and chemicals company with approximately 650 employees and $250,000,000 in revenue, and the deployment served as the primary financial platform for corporate finance and plant-level accounting.
The Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise deployment concentrated on core financial capabilities common to the ERP Financial category, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and consolidated financial reporting, configured to centralize transaction processing and month-end close workflows. The technical footprint reflected common 2007 architectures with an on-premises server instance and desktop client access, and the rollout standardized chart of accounts, role-based access controls, and month-end governance to align accounting processes across business units.

In 2013, Preferred Sands implemented Infor CloudSuite Industrial (Syteline) as its Manufacturing ERP to centralize manufacturing, fulfillment, and financial workflows across company-owned and partner-operated proppant plants. The deployment targeted core operational needs in production scheduling, shipping and fulfillment automation, and financial reconciliations, using Infor CloudSuite Industrial (Syteline) as the principal application for transactional processing and operations orchestration.
The implementation provisioned fully automated shipping and fulfillment modules across four Preferred Sands-owned proppant plants and an additional 22 independent partner facilities, standardizing order-to-ship workflows and shipment support processes. Financial modules were configured to improve accounts receivable and reconciliation processes, and the quarterly accounting reconciliation workflow was restructured to achieve a 97% improvement in efficiency.
A scalable integrations platform was built around Infor SyteLine and Infor ION technologies to support immediate business growth, demand, and development, providing an integration backbone between the Manufacturing ERP and partner facility data feeds. This integrations layer enabled real-time orchestration of fulfillment events and consolidated financial transaction flows without naming additional third party systems.
Governance changes included centralized reconciliation controls and automated fulfillment exception handling, which reduced manual intervention in shipment support. Operational scope covered plant operations, distribution and fulfillment, and finance functions across the company and its partner network.
Measured outcomes from the deployment included a $1.2 million capital benefit driven by a three day reduction in Days Sales Outstanding, and a 33% reduction in shipment support staff attributable to automation of shipping and fulfillment processes. The project positioned Preferred Sands with a Manufacturing ERP foundation and integration platform to scale operations across owned and partner facilities.

The Infor Ming.le deployment was integrated with Infor SyteLine, Infor ION, and Infor Mongoose to eliminate duplicate manual entry and ensure consistent master data. The implementation focused on collaboration capabilities such as event and alert feeds, task and approval workflows, contextualized transaction views, and in-application notifications to reduce user entry error and to provide users with real-time data access from any location.
