In 2014, Prosper Marketplace implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP. The Oracle NetSuite ERP deployment became the companys ERP Financial backbone supporting corporate finance, FP&A, vendor management, procurement and subsidiary accounting workloads across the organization.
Configuration work focused on core financial processes, including general ledger workflows, accounts payable automation, cash management and a controlled monthly close. Process automation included an electronic journal approval process and automated schedule reporting for FP&A and vendor management, and BlackLine was implemented to centralize, document and track accounting reconciliations and monthly close task management.
The implementation integrated third party systems and payments flows, including Coupa for procurement and travel expense digitization and ACH electronic payment integration for vendor payouts. Multiple acquisitions were folded into the environment, with foreign currency and subsidiary integration established within NetSuite, cross mapping of the chart of accounts completed, and organizational processes defined for subsidiary journal entries and financial management.
Governance changes emphasized documented close tasks and approval workflows, centralized reconciliation control via BlackLine, and vendor payment approval workflow redesign in Coupa that reduced approval timelines and improved visibility into contractual obligations and corporate spend. Operational ownership included finance, FP&A and vendor management teams, and the program included day to day management by a finance lead overseeing three staff accountants.
