| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 PSEG implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform. The S/4 HANA-based transformation was advanced as a strategic technology program by the Sr. Director, Infrastructure and Architecture, who secured roadmap funding within a $150M plus project portfolio and led the adoption effort across corporate finance and operations for the 12,543 employee utility.
SAP S/4 HANA was configured to centralize core financial capabilities typical of an ERP Financial deployment, including general ledger, fixed asset accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial close orchestration, and financial reporting. The program emphasized automation of period close and reconciliations, and used DevOps patterns and increased automation to reduce operational incidents through repeatable procedures.
The S/4 HANA program aligned with PSEG’s broader cloud strategy that migrated more than 50 percent of corporate systems to Amazon Web Services including AWS GovCloud, and it incorporated API integration patterns, data lake ingestion, and machine learning pipelines for analytics and operational telemetry. Integrations followed enterprise integration patterns to connect SAP S/4 HANA with corporate data repositories and cloud-hosted services while preserving cybersecurity controls.
Governance and operational transformation were coordinated with the CISO and infrastructure leadership, establishing policies, processes, and operational frameworks to support secure runbooks and change control. The rollout was executed with staged governance, automation-first operational processes, and executive sponsorship, and it delivered explicit outcomes cited by leadership including millions in incremental revenue and operational efficiencies, and a 66 percent reduction in operational incidents over a 12 month period.

| Hitachi Vantara | Legacy | Hitachi Ventyx FocalPoint Suite | Asset Performance Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2014 | 2015 |
In 2014, PSEG implemented Hitachi Ventyx FocalPoint Suite. The deployment used Hitachi Ventyx FocalPoint Suite as an Asset Performance Management platform to centralize asset health monitoring, failure mode analysis, and maintenance planning across its New Jersey generation and transmission assets.
The implementation configured core Asset Performance Management capabilities including an enterprise asset registry, asset health modeling, condition based monitoring inputs, predictive analytics for deterioration and failure risk, and work prioritization workflows tied to planned maintenance. Configuration emphasized asset hierarchies and lifecycle records to support reliability centered maintenance practices and to standardize inspection and test result capture.
The solution integrated with operational control and maintenance systems through interfaces to enterprise maintenance systems and control room telemetry, using SCADA and GIS data feeds to ingest condition signals and update asset health indicators. Operational coverage focused on maintenance, operations, and engineering groups within PSEG, enabling common asset context for maintenance planning and outage coordination.
Governance and rollout included establishing data stewardship, standardized asset naming and classification, and revising maintenance governance to apply risk based prioritization driven by the Asset Performance Management outputs. The program used staged configuration governance and process training to embed the FocalPoint Suite into routine maintenance planning and reliability workflows.
