In 2014, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) implemented Temenos T24 as its Core Banking application. The engagement began with process led workshops where bank stakeholders and implementation teams identified gaps in the initial system build, produced As-Is analysis outputs, and defined the scope of customization required to align Temenos T24 to business requirements.
Workstreams included preparation of business requirement documents BRD’s and Interface Requirement Documents IRD’s, and development of business cases to justify configuration and custom development. The implementation team configured product catalogs and system parameters, designed menus, and created and updated Versions, Enquiries, and Reports within Temenos T24 to support operational workflows.
Temenos T24 was configured to cover core modules including Loans and Deposits, Limits and Collaterals, Islamic Finance Products, Past Dues, Customer, Accounts, TFS and Funds Transfer. Interface planning was documented through IRD’s, and the team liaised with product and testing vendor teams to coordinate integration points and testing cycles while ensuring alignment with requirements from multiple business divisions and branch banking users.
Governance and quality assurance were led by the bank’s business users team with active defect management and UAT leadership. The project included a focused Arabization program where a project lead developed Arabic front end screens, versions, menus, enquiries and reports for branch banking users, embedding language support into Temenos T24 and into operational workflows across affected business functions.
