Oracle Legacy Oracle E-Business Suite ERP Financial ERP Financial Management Osi Digital 2022 2022
In 2022 Quanex implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial application. The implementation was executed with SI Osi Digital and focused on consolidating 13 disparate ERP instances into a single Oracle E-Business Suite deployment for Quanex Building Products, with core development activity based in Akron, OH. Architecture and application design used Blazor Server and C# .NET Core front ends connected directly to Oracle via EF Core 7 to enable workflow enhancements and tighter data integration. Functional modules implemented in Oracle E-Business Suite covered Order Entry, Order Management, Shipping and Packing, and front end components were built to transition away from prior MVC and MSSQL middleware patterns toward direct Oracle connectivity. Parallel projects extended operational coverage beyond core ERP functions, including plant safety dashboards using Blazor Server front ends with MSSQL backends to capture daily check sheets for plant floor safety. Workforce and payroll integrations included a UKG Web Time Clock payroll interface that handled clock in clock out shifts breaks and transfers, and Azure Active Directory syncing for onboarding and offboarding via REST API to UKG. Delivery and governance incorporated Azure DevOps pipelines established for all projects and DevOps interfaces to ServiceNow for ticketing and change coordination. The Quanex Oracle E-Business Suite ERP Financial deployment therefore covered order to cash and fulfillment processes payroll interfacing and plant floor safety workflows, with identity and release governance rooted in Azure AD and Azure DevOps driven controls.

Zoom Video Communications Legacy Zoom Audio Video and Web Conferencing Collaboration n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, Quanex implemented Zoom for Audio Video and Web Conferencing. Zoom was embedded on the Quanex public website to provide browser-based meeting access for customer-facing sessions and web-hosted conferencing. The deployment leverages Zoom meeting and webinar capabilities, including video, audio, screen sharing and browser join workflows, aligning with typical Audio Video and Web Conferencing functional modules. Zoom enables hosted sessions and real-time collaboration across customer engagement and internal coordination use cases. Architecturally the implementation surfaces Zoom-hosted media through an embedded web client on the corporate site, retaining media streams and session orchestration within Zoom infrastructure rather than self-hosting media services. The configuration focuses on web-based join workflows and hosted conferencing endpoints accessible from Quanex.com. Operational governance was configured to centralize account provisioning and meeting configuration under Quanex IT, with controls applied for web embedding and meeting access. Ongoing administration concentrates on user provisioning, meeting security settings and embedding maintenance to support both external and internal conferencing needs.

Synergis Software Legacy Synergis Adept Document Management Content Management n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, Quanex deployed Synergis Adept to support lean manufacturing initiatives by standardizing drawing and ECO/ECR processes and improving time-to-market across engineering and manufacturing in the United States. The deployment targeted Document Management to centralize engineering drawings and formalize change control for product development and production teams. The implementation concentrated on drawing management, engineering change order and engineering change request workflows, and document control capabilities within Synergis Adept. Configurations emphasized version control, check-in check-out discipline, metadata-driven search, and automated routing for approvals to accelerate review cycles and reduce manual handoffs. Operational coverage included engineering and manufacturing functions at Quanex United States sites, enabling cross-functional collaboration between design, quality, and production groups. Governance was updated to formalize ECO and ECR processes with standardized workflows, role-based access controls, and audit trails to enforce change discipline and improve traceability.
