Hitachi Legacy Hitachi Ellipse EAM Accounts Payable AP Automation ERP Financial Management n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, Queensland Urban Utilities implemented Hitachi Ellipse EAM Accounts Payable as part of a broader Enterprise Asset Management System program, with a clear focus on AP Automation. The implementation was positioned inside the EAMS program that targeted multiple finance and asset business streams, and the Hitachi Ellipse EAM Accounts Payable application served as the vendor AP module for invoice lifecycle and supplier processes. The deployment emphasis was on configuring accounts payable workflows to align with asset and maintenance operations, including supplier master data alignment, invoice capture and validation, and automated interfacing to financial posting processes. Standard AP Automation capabilities were applied, including invoice processing, exception handling workflows, and ledger posting orchestration to support asset-centric cost allocation and maintenance cost accounting. Integration work documented in the program included close coupling of Hitachi Ellipse EAM Accounts Payable with General Ledger, Asset Management, Asset Maintenance and Operations, Accounts Receivable and Supply Chain business streams, reflecting a cross-functional EAMS architecture. The EAMS Data Analyst role in Brisbane conducted data profiling, root cause analysis and size estimation of data quality issues across these integrations, and produced analysis reports and remediation recommendations to ensure consistent master data and transactional integrity. Program governance centralized data quality responsibilities, with the EAMS Data Analyst acting as the single coordination point to register and prioritise data quality problems, implement data quality business rules, and report performance to the EAMS Information Architect. The governance model included liaison with the QUU Data Quality Analyst and QUU Information Architect to embed reporting, monitoring and resolution workflows into the Hitachi Ellipse EAM Accounts Payable deployment.

Workday Legacy Workday Absence Management Absence and Leave Management HCM n/a 2020 2020
Queensland Urban Utilities in 2020 implemented Workday Absence Management (Absence and Leave Management) to replace a legacy absence system. A short-term Workday Business Analyst & Test Lead engagement (Jul–Sep 2020) was brought in to align the program with stakeholder expectations and project timelines, drive business process mapping of current and future states, and run proof-of-concept scenarios with daily stakeholder engagement. The implementation centered on Workday’s Absence and Time Off modules and included a managed integration to the organisation’s chris21 HR/payroll environment. The BA led development and execution of test cases in both Workday and chris21, managed the integration activities, and supported internal BA staff through to the testing milestone. No external SI/VAR was engaged, and the contracted engagement completed once the project was brought into line with corporate expectations and the internal team reached the testing stage.

Collexus Legacy Collexus Debt Management Debt Collection and Recovery ERP Services and Operations n/a 2018 2018
In 2018 Queensland Urban Utilities implemented Collexus Debt Management in the Debt Collection and Recovery category. The deployment was executed as part of a broader Billing Program addressing the meter to cash process, with program delivery managed through a portfolio approach that produced over 200 business requirements across 15 projects and initiatives. Governance placed the solution under the Digital Experience product team, which managed Agile delivery for external customer experience products and coordinated requirement delivery with program managers. The implementation approach emphasized iterative releases and customer research driven improvements to collections workflows. Collexus Debt Management was configured to support standard debt collection and recovery workflows, including account placement, case management, automated contact workflows, payment arrangement capture, and ledger reconciliation tied to receipting. Configuration focused on segmentation, dispute handling, and escalation routing to align with utility billing rules, and the platform produced operational reports and case histories for collections and customer service staff. These functional capabilities were instrumented to integrate into existing operational processes rather than requiring wholesale process redesign. Operational integrations were established with HiAffinity billing for account and receipting data, with Genesys contact centre to deliver agent workflows and call context, and with CRM capabilities developed in the Salesforce workstream to support customer interactions. The implementation impacted billing, receipting, collections, and customer service functions, with rollout activity coordinated through the Billing Program and Agile product team governance. Program documentation and product management practices recorded delivery of the explicit requirements and supported ongoing refinement of debt recovery processes.
