| SAP | Legacy | SAP HCM (HR) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2012 | 2013 |
In 2012, RAK Ceramics implemented SAP HCM (HR) as its Core HR application. The SAP HCM (HR) deployment supported a 12,000 employee manufacturing organization with HR activities centered at the corporate head office and recruitment outreach covering the UAE, India and China.
The implementation covered core SAP HCM modules OM, PA and Payroll, with Organizational Management and Personnel Administration configured to maintain job structures, position matrices and employee master data. Payroll was operated as a monthly payroll process, with templates and sub‑process documentation prepared and maintained in Ancile Software to standardize transaction flows and user procedures. The program included induction and orientation workflows, job responsibility and specification templates, and ongoing maintenance of the centralized employee database.
Operational integrations and cross‑functional coverage were explicit, Ancile Software was used for process templates and the HR function coordinated closely with the PRO department for visa administration and with Legal for ISO policy alignment. Day‑to‑day HR operations implemented in SAP HCM (HR) included leave administration, transportation and security administration, labour and staff accommodation tracking, recruitment processing across UAE, India and China, and periodic and ad hoc HRIS reporting to management.
Governance and rollout emphasized end user training, assignment of authorization roles, and training of management interns and departmental approvers to enforce workflow and data ownership. Regular HRIS reports were institutionalized for management review and ad hoc reporting such as loan, leave, gratuity and provision schedules were produced from the SAP HCM (HR) environment to support executive and operational decision making.

In 2020, RAK Ceramics deployed Cisco Webex Meetings as its Audio Video and Web Conferencing solution embedded on the corporate website. The deployment uses Cisco Webex Meetings cloud services from Cisco Systems to provide browser-based audio and video conferencing, screen sharing, meeting scheduling, and recording capabilities accessible directly from public and authenticated web pages.
The implementation is delivered as an embedded meeting and join flow integrated into the website, enabling on-demand conferencing access for external visitors and internal users without requiring a separate desktop client, while session orchestration and media handling remain in the Webex Meetings cloud. Operational ownership is centered in corporate IT for configuration, meeting policy enforcement, and user access provisioning, and the configuration relies on standard Cisco Webex Meetings modules to support synchronous collaboration through the site.
