In 2018, RBC Insurance implemented FINEOS Claims as its Insurance Claims Management application to support Life and Health claims operations in the Toronto, Canada area. The deployment emphasized structured claim file migration, document ingestion, and operational claim processing for large case clients and routine invoice payment workflows.
FINEOS Claims was configured to handle claims intake, adjudication workflows, payment processing, and document management. Implementation activities documented included converting and uploading GCAS and GPace files into IBM Content Navigator for repository ingestion, migrating Inspro Claims Shell records onto FINEOS Claims, and validating claim application records within Case 360 to preserve data integrity during conversion.
The implementation integrated FINEOS Claims with a range of downstream and document systems that were explicitly used in operational workflows, including Case 360, Group Claims Administration System GCAS, GPace, IBM Content Navigator ICN, GroupFacts, Inspro, Watermark Insurance Services, Cap Gemini File Share System, SharePoint, Portland, and UNUM. These integrations supported monthly online claims reporting to large clients, submission of client and doctor documentation, and storage of authorization letters and specialist correspondence.
Operational governance and process workstreams were managed by Life and Health claims teams, with Business Analyst and Operations Administrator roles executing migration, file verification, and invoice processing tasks. The project notes record that file conversions and uploads were performed accurately and efficiently, and that operational duties also included membership in Health and Safety oversight while using FINEOS Claims for ongoing claims administration.
